I got a notification that the battery was low. Normally, that means that I need to plug it in within the day. Instead, it showed me 0 battery this morning and turned itself off. I plugged it in for about 30 minutes and it showed as 99% charged (which seemed fast to charge from 0 to 99%). When I took it out of the charger, the screen was black and the Versa was completely non-responsive. I've tried holding down a variety of combinations of buttons for up to 5 minutes (ouch on the fingers), but that didn't work. Then I noticed that there have been some compatibility problems with the new IOS. I updated the Fitbit app on my phone and also updated the IOS on my phone. For a brief minute or two, the phone was working again. I swiped over to turn on the timer (I was making a cup of tea) and the screen went to the Fitbit logo. After that, nothing. I assume this is more of a software problem than hardware, but would like some guidance, or at least assurance that Fitbit is working hard on this problem.

Try plugging charger into a laptop. Laptop should read your fitbit and should be able to work again or able to download update.

I don't have a laptop, but I plugged it into my computer. I am not sure that's going to do anything, as all the computer did was recognize that the Versa is plugged in. It doesn't want to run an update or anything like that.
I had left it plugged into the charger when I went to lunch - it had been showing 99% before I left and now that I am back it is showing 76%. I am going to let it charge back up to 100% and will see what happens. Just checked on it - literally 1 minute later and it is showing 100%. Something really strange is going on.

I charged it overnight and it seems to be working fine today. Fingers crossed that all is well.
