Fitbit Versa keeps starting exercise recording

My Versa keeps suddenly switching itself to exercise mode, then the screen switches between play and pause and vibrates constantly. I've tried resetting it and deleting/reloading the app. Any other ideas? I tried to do a "factory reset" suggested elsewhere in this forum but it didn't do anything.

@GemmaLN By didn't do anything do you mean the factory reset wasn't successful (completed) or that it didn't resolve the issue?
