I got in the pool today with my children and turned on the swim exercise. Now my fitbit Versa won't come on. What do I need to do. I just received it Monday. Thanks in advance!!!

Received as gift or maybe a a re gift.  Out of warranty according to them.  It was new unopened in box but apparently purchased months prior. Oh well. Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8.

They're garbage in the water. I’ve had them go out from a hot tub to a shower. No where near 50 meters. Just had a 4th go down. Worthless. I’m contemplating not even contacting customer service for a replacement this time. Waste of time.

My Fitbit stopped working after swimming with it . I have got it wet before & it was ok

I got rid of my Fitbit for many reasons including the water frying my versa 2 weeks after I got it and them sending me a refurbished.    Add in the fact that every single move you make with your arm is counted as a step, fitbit products are garbage.  Sure, they're good if you don't want consistency and accuracy,  but for someone who is looking for those 2 things, fitbit is awful.     Currently loving my new Garmin

Hi brown1959, I would guess that we are both 60 year olds lol.

Water resistant to 50 meters plus a built-in swim app means that I can swim laps with it, which was unfortunately NOT the case.

On the positive side, even though my Fitbit was a few weeks out of warranty, they randomly emailed me a few days ago (because of my post here I would guess), and then followed up with a Fedex return label. I have sent the defective Versa and charger back to them with a few suggestions as to how to better deal with their customers and warranties, etc. We will see how this evolves. I believe that if companies have issues with poor manufacturing that they should be very open and supportive with their customers. It certainly makes me a loyal customer if I see that commitment. I also expect a minimum 90 day warranty on any replacement product (regardless of when the first warranty expired), otherwise it gives me little confidence in the company's products and customer service. I have not seen this from Fitbit after reading tons of posts at this point 😞

Fitbit stock got trashed over the past few years. Google now owns Fitbit, so hopefully they will turn the corner and enhance both their customer service and product quality!

Speaking of which, I hope that their customer service treats you fairly 🙂

My Versa spends at least 8 hours a week in the pool and has been working
fine this past year. I an quite happy with mine.

They wrote me off. Refused to replace the Versa but offered me 15% off to buy a new one. Such an insult. I will never buy or use their products again. I threw mine in the trash. Not using a Fitbit means I will pay higher insurance premiums as my employer requires one ( but does not provide).

I have swam and went snorkeling with no problems. Went on a cruise and was working great in the pools but stopped when I got in the ocean. Just bought this one a little over a year ago. We are on our way home from cruise today. Not a happy camper right now.

Me too! Me and my boyfriend went swimming with our watches. Only thing is he had an Apple Watch and me, my Fitbit. Apple Watch unharmed. My Fitbit was dead! Called Fitbit for help but no luck, now out of my Fitbit and refuse to ever buy another. I tell everyone I know that is considering to just go with Apple Watch!

You dont. It completely fried mine. Had it 2 weeks, spent 300 on it and
they sent me a refurbished one. I got rid of it and switched to Garmin.
Fitbit sucks anyhow.

I don't think there is a way. I let my Versa dry out for a few days then tried it again, but nothing (wouldn't turn on). I tried to recharge it, but it seemed to overheat and again nothing. Mine was a week or two beyond my 2 year warranty and thankfully these postings triggered them to replace it. Having said that you only get a 30 day warranty on the replacement. Quite honestly I have been too scared to swim with it given only the 1 month warranty. I mostly use it for tracking land-based exercises, sleep patterns, and heart rate. I'll do more research when I look to buy my next watch.

I only had mine 2 weeks when it happened.  When they sent me a used refurbished one, that was it for me.  I switched to Garmin and am very happy with my purchase.  Garmin is the original GPS tracking company,  their products are top notch compared to fitbit.   I had tons of issues with tracking my runs with fitbit, Garmin is on point everytime.  And thanks to my experience with fitbit, I refuse to get my Garmin wet, even though I'm supposed to be able to swim with it, I'm too afraid to.

I've had my Garmin since December, so far yes I love it. The stress
feature isn't accurate bc its based on heart rate, but that doesn't matter
to me. I can monitor my own stress. The GPS tracking is pretty **ahem**
accurate and unlike fitbit, the step counter is way more accurate. Fitbit
counts any arm movement as a step, even driving down the road it was
tracking it as steps. Havent swam with it yet, fitbit ruined that for
me. I won't take the chance.
