I went swimming in a pool a few days ago with my Fitbit Versa on and it stopped working for about two days. It would not turn back on even though it had a full charge. Then after about two days it turned back on. Now the heart rate sensor does not work, the lights on the back wont light up anymore and it wont display BPM. I have factory reset the watch and it still wont work. Also sleep tracking does not work as well.
I’m guessing there was some sort of water damage and after a few days it had dried out enough to start up but the heart rate sensor was damaged. Has anyone sent a water damage watch to be repaired or replace under warranty. The watch is only 3 weeks old so would want a replacement, if they just repaired the watch it would most likely get damaged the next time I go for a swim.

Hi @Kai-n,
Sounds like you could use a replacement. Contact Fitbit Support so they can get you going in the process.

It's great to see you around @Kai-n and @WavyDavey thanks for stopping by.
I am sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with your Versa and would like to know if you followed our friend's recommendation and contacted our support team, have they offer you a solution for this?
Hope to hear from you soon.

Mine did the same thing over the weekend. First time I've gotten it wet and it won't turn on. Put it in a bag of rice over-night...still won't turn on. I got on fitbit chat today and they are shipping another one to me. I really like the Versa but it sounds like there are a lot of problems with it being "waterproof". I'll be hesitant to get in the water with the new one

Great customer support today. They are replacing my Versa that won't turn on after getting wet. I love it and I'm glad they are replacing it. I think they need to work on the waterproof aspect of it because a lot of us use it for the swimming app. Great support though!

It took a few swims for mine to stop working. I didn't have a problem until I went swimming in the lake. I do have a replacement one on the way. I bought this one mainly for the swimming feature, but I doubt I will try to swim with it again.

I had the same problem, i emailed Fitbit support. I would really like a replacement too, waterproof should be waterproof. It's not like the watches are cheap. Good luck.

My Versa was submerged into water and hasn’t turned on since. What did I do?

Part of y’all’s problem could be that y’all are swimming to deep with it. If you look at the back of the Fitbit it can only go 50m, which is good for if you forgot to take it off during the shower or something.

I don't think that's the problem as I have been swimming many times with mine, also they have an exercise tracker on the watch so it counts your laps....if it wasn't waterproof then they wouldn't have that on it, pretty sure I read that y'all can take them diving to

I showered with my fitbit Versa a couple days ago. It stopped working also. I can see the water bubbles at the bottom of the watch where the light shines. The watch still does not work. I have a new Versa replacement coming on Saturday. I am not sure if the new watch will be able to go in the water or if I will get another 12 months of warranty from Fitbit.
Please let me know if any one of you can confirm the underlined sentence above.
Thanks!!

I agree. It should say water resistant, but the swimming app. comes with the watch. The swim app. notes that it can track your pool workout. The watch manual notes that you can scuba dive up to 50 meters. We paid a lot for this watch for it have to be replaced in 8 months.
Thanks for your response!!

Hi, you didn't do anything. The Fitbit Versa is not waterproof even though Fitbit says it is. Mine died today after a swim and they are replacing it. Yet after reading a few of these forums with many contributors, the same thing is happening - it is malfunctioning and stops working after a swim.

Nope, regular lap swimming. The problem is the watch is malfunctioning for may people during regular swims. Real the multitude of contributors with the same experience. Fitbit needs to remove the waterproof and swimming function for this watch or make so that it doesn't die during a swim.
