Fitbit Versa not working with LG G6

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

First I find out my LG G6 is not compatible (so now that you bought their expensive device you need to spend more money for a need phone) now when using a tablet the app keeps stopping. Frustrating

Hello @Slipper8, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for letting us know about this situation. I understand you're not able to sync with your LG G6 but it will be very helpful for us to have more details about the situation you're experiencing with the Fitbit app on your tablet. Are you using an iPad or an Android tablet? When did you update the app for the last time? When did the issue start? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

I have a G6 as well. Got a versa. It worked just long enough you let the return policy expire then they did an update and it never syncs anymore unless i disconnectevery other Bluetooth pairing and factory reset the fitbit. I'll never buy another fitbit. Syncing is a basic function and this kind of poor connectivity is unacceptable in 2018.

Hey @Welverin, welcome to the Fitbit Community! Oh! I'm sorry to hear about the syncing issues that you are experiencing with your Versa and your LG G6, but as you may see, this phone model has not been released as a compatible device yet. However, as I've told other users who have tried to sync with no compatible devices, they can try the troubleshooting in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? And they might work, but I can't guarantee. In the meantime I can only ask you to be patient while our team is working in order to expand the compatible devices list.

Keep me posted if you have further questions!

The LG G6 was released in Feb 2017!!!! Not compatible yet?! This phone is almost outdated now!  The exact same has happened to me and I am livid that FitBit has spent months telling me they're working on it and it's 6 + mo later and it still doesn't work.  The dumb thing doesn't even sync with my PC dongle.

Hey @CDH906, it is great to see you around more often! You are right, this phone model, the LG G6 has been released a few months back, however, it has not been added to the compatible devices list, but, that doesn't mean that it won't work with your Versa. If it won't connect, as I've mentioned, you can try the troubleshooting in these help articles: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and Why won't my Fibtit device sync? Also, you can try with another compatible device. I know how you feel, but I will ask you to be patient while our team is working on this. 😉

I have tried these things, highly disappointed in FitBit for not supporting a 20 month old phone.

Thanks for your reply @CDH906! Our team is always working in order to expand the compatible devices list, so I will appreciate your patience while they add new phones and tablets to it. As I've mentioned, you can try to sync your Versa with another compatible device or a computer.

I will appreciate your patience and understanding!

It's not just the G6... They haven't bothered to update the list since the G3. 4 year old device. Essentially all of the cheery copy-pasted responses are telling the consumers is "we don't support any other brands except Samsung or Apple. Too bad for you".

I'm in the same position as you with the G6 and their phone support doesn't care either. They just told me to try and use a supported device (like I have a second device just lying around) or sync to a computer (which defeats the purpose of a mobile tracker).

Every other Activity Tracker brand manages to get proper Android support right. Legit embarrassing for a company that supposedly "takes community feedback seriously".

It is great to see new faces around @ButtersStotch! I totally understand you. To be completely honest with you, we as moderators don't know on which phone models i our team working and when are they gonna be full released as compatible, since we know that not all of them meet the requirements to sync with Fitbit devices. As I have said, in these type of cases, I can only ask you to be patient while more phones and tablets are added to.

How can a high end modern phone like the G6 not be compatible. I've tried all your help links and the only thing that works is uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. No way I'm going to do that every time I want to synch. And even after doing that Notifications never work from my phone to the Versa. That's really the only reason I bought the Versa in the first place. I guess I should have just stuck with my old cheap device. What crap!!!

I too am very disappointed that My shiny new versa a few days old doesn't work as well as my charge did with my LG g6. I'm on all day sync but it hasn't synched in 24 hours but I'm still getting notifications. can't link  to WiFi or bluetooth most of the day. This is my fourth Fitbit device including the scale. How could the newest one be the worst one? A joke.Lol even this post got bounced three times before it posted. Need new programmers.

Can't even shame Fitbit into fixing the issues either as they really don't seem to care. We get a copy/pasted response from the Mods or from their Twitter Army telling us that they are working on it. If that was the case their support for LG would not be 4 years behind. Best part, it's not just LG support that is lacking... looking at OnePlus and they haven't bothered to update that since the OnePlus One.

At least Garmin knows how to make an app and product that supports the OS of the phone and not the brand... I say that because if people buy a phone that isn't Samsung or Apple then Fitbit doesn't doesn't care about their consumers.

All I know, is this is the last Fitbit that I will be purchasing and same with my SO. We'll take our money to a company that knows how to develop an app and product that works across platforms.

No joy. LG G6 doesn't synch. Almost anything other than a Samsung or iPhone
won't synch. Fitbit needs to fix this asap. Can't believe this hasn't hit
the media.

If you watch any reviewers on YouTube I would recommend reaching out to them (comments, Twitter, etc.) and letting them know about it. I'll be doing that around the time of the next release if these compatible device lists are updated in any meaningful way.

It is really frustrating that there is still no fix. I've just switched from a Pebble smart watch (no problems syncing with my G6) to a Fitbit versa because Fitbit bought them out and so I assumed they would have the same technology, had I known this wasn't a compatible phone I would have went somewhere else. So disappointing. Seeing as this thread is months old and it still isn't on the compatible list, should we assume it is never going to be added?

Yes. What could be  great watch was poorly implemented, apparently designed to only work perfectly work iPhones. My wife loves the watch but is moving to a Pixel next week and from reading these forums, she's probably going to have problems with it.
