Hi
After wearing the Fitbit Versa while swimming in the pool, it stopped working and its not even charging.
Fitbit product care mentions the following:
"Fitbit products are made to be water resistant. Fitbit Ace 2, Charge 3, Flex 2, Ionic, Inspire family and Versa family can be worn in the lake, the pool or the ocean, and Fitbit Ace can be worn in the shower."
Based on the above claim I went to the pool while wearing the device and it stopped working.
Was not expecting this from a brand like fitbit. #feelingVerySad
Any help with restarting or making the product work would be appreciated.

That sounds awfully sad, I'm sorry that. Yes, the Versa should be water resistant to 50m.
I can only guess that water still remains in the watch or worse and more likely, chlorine has seeped into the Versa itself, causing the malfunctioning.
I would wait for it to completely dry out, if you think it is, I would contact Fitbit in honoring their warranty.

Welcome to our Community forum @MannaRouth! Thanks for checking the specifications of the Versa.
Hi @JetSetRadio thanks for stepping out and sharing your suggestions. It's great to receive the help from you.
@MannaRouth This watch is a swim-poof device and I'm glad that you'd like to take advantage of that feature. I contacted Support and was informed that you already open a case regarding this situation, and they'll reach at you soon. Please keep an eye to your inbox.

Hi,
Thanks @JetSetRadio and @JuanFitbit for responding to my post.
The current update is that after keeping the device in a bowl of white rice, I could charge the device and switch it on (good), but the device is getting discharged very fast(with in 3-4 hours) 😞
Also I had purchased Versa specifically because the device is swim-poof and I want to use it to track my swimming. Now after the initial experience of device not working after I used it during swimming, I am worried now on whether to wear it when in the pool.
I have asked the same to Fitbit support and waiting for a reply.
Best Regards,
Manna

Hi @MannaRouth, you wouldn't happen to know if Chlorine was used in the pool, would you? Although I'm not positive, I think that may be part of your issue. From my own experience owning a pool, I know that Chlorine is a chemical used to keep the pool clean. I'm wondering if it could have somehow corrupted the watch.

Hi @Icequeen., I would contact Support (link is at the bottom of the page). It sounds like some shampoo may have gotten into your device and messed it up.

Yes! I’m having this exact issue with my Versa 2! I had my last Fitbit for 5 yrs but decided to upgrade and get a swim-proof one so that I didn’t have to take it off. Went swimming (in a very shallow pool and it was never submerged for long due to the fact that I was scared that it was as swim-proof as they made it seem) and now it won’t come on or charge. I picked this watch in particular because it said it was swim-proof. I’m very disappointed and would like to know my options with resolving this issue. I purchased mine back in April of 2020. Can someone pls help?
