I noticed my Fitbit versa stopped working today. The screen was completely black but it would vibrate randomly. I thought maybe it was dead but my phone app said it was fully charged, and still it wouldn't turn on. I tried holding down all 3 buttons at once for a factory reset and it vibrates and the screen seems to turn on (but still black) before shutting down completely again. Any advice?

The factory reset is more thsn holding down all three buttons, so try it as it is written below after you have fully charged it. If the watch isnt syncing (Im not sure if it is or not) the battery level in the app wont be accurate. If that doesnt restore it you will need to contact Support (link in my signature)
FACTORY RESET USING BUTTONS
On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This triggers the 2-button hardware reboot after about eight seconds.
- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, then continue holding the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.
- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time, or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.
If the device turns on, please go back to the Fitbit app and setup your device back to your account with these steps. Make sure your watch is plugged into a wall plug or a computer, next to the router and that there are no other trackers or devices with Bluetooth on nearby when setting up. Please log into your account, go to account on the upper right corner, there look for "setup a device" and tap on it. Follow the instructions on the screen and let the watch charge for 2 hours.

Hello @WanderingKitsun, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's great to see you too @NellyG, thanks for all your help.
@WanderingKitsun, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. At this moment, if you have already tried the troubleshooting steps provided by @NellyG, my best recommendation would be cleaning the gold contacts on both your Versa and its charging cable first.
To clean the contacts:
After that, plug in the charging cable on a different USB port and connect your Versa, wait for 15 seconds and tap on the screen to see if something comes up.
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I am having the same issue.
Very disappointed.
For the price we pay for the watches they lshould ast a good 10 years to get my money's worth.
This is now my 3rd Fitbit that dies within 3 years of its lifespan.
Will look into another brand as 3 strikes your out.
Also I am wondering if fitbit does this on purpose and it's in their upgrades so that the watches die forcing us to buy new ones
