Fitbit Versa vibrated then died

I was wearing my Versa with about a 70% charge when I all of a sudden I felt it vibrating.  Thinking I was getting a message or alert I looked down and found that the screen had gone completely dark.  After trying to reboot, charge and any other troubleshooting technique that Fitbit Reps had me attempt to do, I was told that it was out of warranty (only had it for just over a year) and that I could get a low % discount on a new one.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Why would anyone buy another Versa at that kind of price if the company won't stand behind their product?

@Craig23 welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa's screen went blank. I'm also sorry to hear that it's no longer under warranty. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate your feedback since this helps us to keep improving.

I'll be around if any question arises.
