Fitbit Versa vs My Fitness Pal Calories Budget

I have a Fitbit Versa and use My Fitness Pal app to log/track my food. I have My Fitness Pal app synced to the Fitbit app.  Why is the calorie budget in my Fitbit Food Plan different from Food Plan in My Fitness Pal?  My Fitness Pal calorie budget is 1280 and  Fitbit calorie budget is 1363, a difference of 83 calories?  When there is a calorie adjustment from Fitbit  during the day, the adjustment  from Fitbit is recorded to My Fitness Pal (which it is supposed to do).   Hope somebody can help and tell me why the Food Plans are different number of calories. I have double and triple checked the Food Plan information entered in both Food Plans are the same.  HELP!  This is driving me nuts.

Mine is the same, I imagine that both Fitbit and MyFitnessPal use different algorithms to work out how many calories you should be eating to achieve your goal. You can if you wanted too change them in the app to be a specific number rather than one they calculate for you, MyFitnessPal is simple to do this, go to profile, edit profile, goals, calorie and macronutrients goals, and change the value to match the Fitbit’s 😄

I guess it's also important to remember that both apps are guessing, and it's almost impossible for either of them to be 100% correct.

calumthomas have you or did you hear anyone who has tried using Fitbit to add your food and not used My Fitness Pal?  If you did, was it as easy to use as My Fitness Pal?

I have tried using the Versa plan, it is not as easy to use as MFP, it is a tad clunky. MYbe it will improve over time!

Hi all, Newbie to the Fitbit and I need help..

I have synced MFP app and the Versa but only some of the food entry is showing on the Fitbit dash (breakfast is there but not the lunch or dinner) even though the diary entry is complete on MFP. So it looks as though I’ve starved myself today - haha! I’ve triple checked both apps and all is synced properly. I’ve searched all the communit6 chat and can’t seem to find the answer or the problem anywhere. I’m sure this is easy rectified and any help would be great.

Also so is there a way to get MFP app icon on the Versa watch? This isn’t a must just curious!

I agree.  I have been using Loseit (Free Version) and it is much easier to enter the food than the Fitbit app.  Do you have to have the Premium Version of MFP to connect the Versa to MFP?
