So I have had my Fitbit Versa since June 2018 and I've done absolutely everything with it from showering to swimming in the ocean. Everything was fine until yesterday. I went swimming and it seemed the battery died during my swim, which is normal since I forget to charge it at times, I dried it off and plugged it in to charge, it wouldn't turn on for a few hours. After a few hours it turned on but would only stay on while plugged into its charging point. If I took it out of the charger, the fitbit logo appears and I can't do anything with it .Also the battery is jumping from 99% to 26% and back. What should I do?

This exact thing just happened to me today. I thought my versa died, even though I thought I just charged it 2 nights ago. I charged it. Put it back on. And the logo randomly popped up about an hour late and I can't get it to work properly again.

No, it was no longer under warranty. Which is why they offered me the discount....the discount that they wouldn't allow me to use because the fitbit was on sale. I tried to explain it shouldn't matter because if the fitbit had worked as advertised (swimproof) I wouldn't need to spend an additional 100 to buy a new one but got nowhere with them. Pretty sad that I've been a fitbit customer for years and their device failed me...to replace it, I had to spend exactly what a new customer would spend. I had already purchased the new fitbit when all this went down, you can be assured that when this one dies, I will NOT be buying another one of their products. I'll switch to something that actually is as advertised. Or that the seller actually stands behind. I could not be more disappointed with them.

I had the exact same experience. I cannot believe a company like Fitbit will not acknowledge there is a defect in the waterproof aspect of their product! I am not the only one i know with this issue and certainly will not be buying another fitbit if this policy does not change and my current (2nd) Versa 2 experiences the same problems.

Hello guys. My Versa sensors die also after swimming. I swim many times in the past and no problem but now suddenly heart rate sensor stop working. I tried all tricks like restart, enable/disable the heart rate sensor without success. I check the sensors at the bottom and I notice there is something like moist inside. I check the logs at the Fitbit app and the last time it have logs for my heart rate was yesterday at 4pm, about half hour after I finish swimming. So now it works as an expensive dummy watch. What's the purpose of paying 200 euros for a swimproof watch?

They offered me 25% and I’m only 5 months over warranty and have only used it for 11 months, as it was a gift. It’s also the very first time I went swimming with my versa and it has been giving problems ever since my first swim with it a week ago. They wouldn’t even increase my discount when I asked. You’re lucky they offered you 40. Not me! This is the second time my fitbit has stopped working a few months outside the warranty. At this rate I really don’t want to buy another one and will tell everyone else not to as well! I spent a week dealing with issue after issue and today was the climax as the screen is blank even though everything else is working. None of the fixes work. I am so frustrated!

They offer to me also 25% discount as im 1 month over warranty. The discount at the end isn't really discount because the price of the new Fitbit from Fitbite shop with 25% discount its the same price I can find it without coupon on 3rd party retail shops like amazon...

I am having the same problem. It is charging and seems to be working while on the charger, however when I put it on my wrist it stops working. I can see moisture inside. Will that dry out or is it permanent damage?

I'm sorry I haven't responded. I've had a few messages sent to me about my waterlogged Versa but dont know how to get to the original post.
To be honest, I would say it's probably no good. I didn't see moisture on mine. Just a blank screen. I did finally got it to work but for maybe 2 days and now it's completely dead. Good luck. Maybe try to talk to someone to see if it's still under warranty? My warranty expired in the beginning of May. Of course they offered me 25% off but I'm not really happy with that amount especially after seeing so many other people's stories.

It’s stuffed mate.
It’s all to do with the screens. The seal or lack there of. As soon as they touch water they go. I was lucky I guess as my versa 2 (second replacement as both versa originals they gave me were **ahem**) the new one is still going.
The last one I had I only had 6 weeks and the face fell off while I was walking for Christ sake

My Fitbit died over the weekend due to water ingress.
I was just wading on the surface of a lake. I did't even go swimming.
Contacted Fitbit Support by live chat.
They say I am out of Warranty.
I was offered a 35% discount off a new product.
I don't think I will buy another Fitbit again because I can't trust the product to work as intended.
If all of these people's Versa died while using the product as intended, there is definitely a manufacturing
defect.
Did anyone find another tracker product that is waterproof?
Thanks

Hello I randomly found you, and this community, in a Google search. My husband purchased a Versa Special Edition as my Christmas gift in 2019. It crashed, from what seems like water damage, just as the shut-downs hit, back in March 2020 (Northern California). I tried going into the Target he bought it from once things opened but they told me they had no way to deal with the issue, as it's water damage, and wouldn't exchange or return it for me. Now it's just been so long that I don't know what to do next. I loved the Versa. I never swam or showered with it, but I did was my hands 🤷🏽:female_sign: I have no idea how it even got damaged, but it definitely wasn't water resistant. Is there any way I can get some help with this?
Thanks
Malikah
