I have had mine for a month or so and I'm really disappointed with it. I was hoping for something to replace pen and paper. This is not the answer. To get the device to measure any gym activity I have to wear it on my ankle so I'm not sure if the heart rate monitoring is very accurate?
Not sure if the device is better if you actually use it outside? My guess is that it is?
I'm over 50 and haven't been to a gym for14 years. I'm not ready to train outside. I need something that works on a treadmill and cross trainer.
Also when I wear it on a non-gym day seated it still tells me that I'm walking.
I basically have no use for it at all. A wasted £179.99.

I love mine! From what you have said above, I think you are trying to use it to auto detect your workouts in the gym. Is this what you are doing? If it is, that isnt the best way to use it to track these types of activities, because, as you say, it cant really detect them well. You are better to use the exercise app and the exercise shortcuts to do this. If you'd like some help with this let me know and I can give you directions.

The problem I have is that you have to use your arms in, at the moment, an unnatural way, (I'm still quite unfit and need to hold or not, depending on the apparatus.)

I love mine too, but if I was still unsteady in my training, I would have gotten something like the Flex 2 (which can be worn either as a pendant or bracelet) that you can wear around your neck, which will still track your steps and free up your arms.
