Fitbit Versa won't receive phone notifications

I have a brand new fitbit versa lite which is connected to my Huawei p20 phone. Connection is fine but I am not receiving notifications from my phone to my watch unless I keep restarting my phone (which is what the fitbit app is telling me to do). After restarting I receive notifications for a short time and then it stops. This is not the only issue I have had with this watch.

Your phone is not on the list of Approved Devices. The list has some special instructions for a P20 Lite you might want to try.

@Louisejacob, welcome to our Fitbit Community. As @SunsetRunner mentioned, the Huawei P20 is not in the list that he provided. This may be the reason why the notifications feature is not working properly, I'm afraid to say.

However, I'd like you to give your vote to this Feature Suggestion, which requests compatibility of this device. The more votes this request gets, the more chances it will have to be reviewed by our engineering team.

We appreciate your patience and understanding with this.

I'll be around if any question arises.
