Fitbit Weird greasy crust formation under

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello, recently I’ve been aware of things happening with my Fitbit versa 2. After the day is done, I remove my Fitbit before bed and it looks like there is this weird thick crust under my watch almost and i just scratch it off. Also It smells really really bad! It does not look like I have an allergy to the band but more like the band is having a sort of reaction

with my skin and creates this greasy

crust. Thanks in advance!

Hello @Davidsk and welcome to the Help forums.  I'm not clear whether your are finding this crust under the band or underneath the Versa 2 case or both but it it important that you clean it regularly.  Here is the link to the Wear and Care instructions.  If you are doing more strenuous workouts, you might wind up have sweat dry under the band and case.  Some of the crust could be from the salt in sweat.  If you are using sunscreen, then that can get icky, too.  We are also always shedding skin cells.

It is important to clean your Versa 2 regularly.  When I see some sunscreen build up on the back of my case, I use a microfiber cloth that is just DAMP, not wet with alcohol.  This is consistent with Fitbit's recommendation to clean the charging contacts with alcohol and a toothbrush.  I also take the band off regularly and clean the groove with a Q-tip and alcohol.  Skin debris gets there, too.
