Fitbit logo flashing on Versa's display

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Currently my almost 2 year old Versa will only flash the Fitbit Logo on then off.

I think it is charging but I am not 100% sure.

I tried holding all 3 buttons for 10 seconds then releasing bottom right.

Not sure what to try.

I would consider purchasing a Versa2 but from what I can see on this forum, the Versa 2 has a lot of similar issues.

Hi @TerryB79, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting over here. Since the restart process that was successfully done didn't resolve your issue, please try our factory reset procedure following the next steps:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

Let me know if further assistance is needed and if you have any additional questions.

The reset sequence does not change the current behavour which is display logo for 25 seconds, 2 seconds off, 25 seconds on etc,For some reason thw off time is longer, (6-7 seconds), when being charged.

Welcome aboard @Crystallee, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

To better assist you with this and move forward, can you please let me know what happens when you try to do a factory reset on your device? Is it still showing the Fitbit logo flashing or is your device not responding at all? When was the first time you experienced this situation? In the meantime I receive your answers, please try our restart process.

I'll be waiting for your reply.

I've tried everything. Sometimes I have a flashing logo, sometimes I have "Data not cleared, sync and try again" and sometimes I have nothing. I cannot sync. Bluetooth on my phone shows it's paired (I tried unpairing and re-pairing, also turning my phone off and back on), but when I try to sync it just says sync failed. When I try to install the update it just keeps telling me it can't find my device (yes, it's near the phone) and to alternately try over wifi or bluetooth.

I made a separate post about my issues, which was reported. A FitBit moderator replied to say that I contacted the support team and my issues were resolved. I replied that while I had contacted the support team, my issue was not resolved and I was having further issues. Then I questioned why my post would be reported. Now the entire post has been deleted. I find this highly discouraging and slightly disturbing to be honest.

I've received a few emails from Fitbit saying I should do a factory reset but it is not sinking in that a reset,  (reset=push all buttons then release lower right when logo goes off), is NOT working.

All the Versa will do is display the logo off an on.

The latest info sent to me, from Tashon M, said to turn the device off/on following a link at fitbit.my.slaesforce.com.... which I cannot log into.

I did purchase new chargers and at 1st that seemed to make a difference.  Even though it still did not work, at least it did display 100% charged.

Now it will not display the charge percentage, only the logo displays
