Fitbit provides no guarantee

Hi,

I bought my Fitbit versa in the end of February 2019 - eight month ago - in Munich in Germany.

A month ago my Fitbit versa screen suddenly went black, the blinking green light on the back were working, and according to the app, Fitbit was still tracking my steps or sleeping and so on, but I could not use the screen or change it to sport modes, check the clock, etc. I have followed all the steps recommended in the community to the similar situations; which apparently is very common.

So I took it to the retailer store, but I am living in Norway now. The retailer -Elkjop- said that since you did not buy the product from us, you are not under our guarantee but we can send it to the Fitbit's reparation/customer center and it depends on them whether they will solve your problem or not. So I delivered my watch a month ago and received a message from Elkjop the same day, that my Fitbit has been sent to the center, but haven't heard from the center ever again.

I contacted the customer support via e-mail and they kept copy pasting an answer that they will help me when I start wearing the Fitbit around my wrist, and didn't get that I do not have my watch. In the end, after 5-6 e-mails, I received an answer that they do not have reparation center because they do not repair their watches because that doesn't bring satisfaction to the customers!!! And that I have to contact my retailer!

So, basically, I need to fly to Germany to solve the issue on my Fitbit that appeared out of no where, only seven months after my purchase.

So, dear Fitbit community, the solution to issues that occur seven months after buying one of your newest products is to throwing it away? Just because I happen not to live in the same country that I bought this product? In other words, there is no guarantee that you provide, but it is the retailers' general guarantees that protects your customers!

Or if not, what is your solution to me?

I recommend everyone to pay more money but buy a product that doesn't go to trash in 7 months. Because it seems that either way you end up spending the same amount of money but just going through so much hassle!
