Fitbit saying footsteps denied and ??? For heart rate

So yesterday  I woke up to my Fitbit saying “???” As my heart rate and that my footsteps are “ denied” I tried resetting it and waiting for it to click over at midnight but no luck. Any suggestions?

It's just a guess but is that a paid-for watchface and you have reached the end of a trial period? Have you tried a different clockface to see if that works ok.

Same thing happened to me - steps denied and  my phone wasn't syncing properly.  Tried turning it on and off but didn't make any difference.  It was asking me to change my clock face although this was one i'd downloaded and paid for.  Anyway I changed the clock face and it appears to be working although it keeps saying I need to unlock my fitbit with my phone.  When I put my pass code into my phone it doesn't accept the passcode 😱
