Fitbit screen is black and not charging

My Fitbit Versa 3 has a black screen. I tried to charge it and it heated up to the point that I could not touch it. The screen showed a Red X and a phrase that read the data was not cleared and not synced. I was very saddened by this. I called the company and since I have only had my Fitbit Versa 3 for 10 months, it was still under warranty. I had to take a few pictures and email them to the customer service representative that helped me. I should be receiving my replacement soon and I did not have to pay for it.

Hi @MonicaJJay - when a watch gets hot during charging it is due to internal damage and most likely water got in. Stop immediately.

As the seals are not so robust on some watches and fail over time avoid getting the replacement wet, as the warranty expires in about 2 months.
