Fitbit unable to be locked by phone

My Fitbit versa somehow got locked out despite never leaving my side since I've gotten it.  I have tried to reset my pin but every time I try I get an "Error unable to connect to Versa" even though the watch is syncing all day.

I've removed all credit cards.  I deactivated wallet pay on my profile.  I've tried resetting both my phone and the Versa at the same time.  I'm not sure what else to do 😞

@Faustus24 Welcome to the forum. Whatever you decide to do, do not remove Versa from your Fitbit account (Fitbit mobile app). Now, let's try restoring the bluetooth connectivity first and then unlocking with your phone:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Reboot your phone. Do not pair in your phone's bluetooth settings
  3. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo appears
  4. Open Fitbit mobile app
  5. Sync
  6. Unlock with the phone.

The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.

Thank you!! This did the trick.  I thought I had basically bricked the thing.

@Faustus24 Nah, it just needed some TLC. 😄 Believe it or not but it's actually hard to brick, from a user perspective at least. The worst thing I see people doing is unlinking from the fitbit account. Please never do that. 😄
