Fitbit vera glowing screen but nothing

Can anyone tell me why I should keep spending money on fitbit? I have had fitbit products from the beginning. From the zip to the charge to the charge 2 to the versa. But after less than a year they always seem to stop working. My most recent versa stopped working less than a year after getting it. The screen glows but I see nothing. So they replaced it, yay them. But less than 3 months later my replacement is doing the same thing!  I can't restart it I see a discolored edge and it glows. Only now my warranty is expired and I have to decide if i even want to stick with fitbit. Give me a good reason.

Thanks

Hi @JanelleC

My versa stooped working after a year as well and I contacted Fitbit and they told me this after a couple of emails and this has worked for me, let me know if this helps:

Let's start by:

  • Turn off your phone.

While your phone is off, restart the Versa like this:

  • Press and hold the back button and bottom right button for 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

After this turn on your phone, open the app and log in to follow this procedure:

  1. Tap on the square button located on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap on the "Set up a device" option.
  3. Look for the image of your Fitbit Versa.
  4. Tap on "Set up your tracker" If the app advise you to connect to WiFi, please do, as it might improve the watch's connection with your phone to setup.
  5. Tap on "I Agree" to accept the terms and policies.
  6. Tap on the arrow icon.
  7. Follow the on screen instructions.

If you're still unable to set up, try the troubleshooting steps below in this specific order.

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  2. Try setting up your device again.
  3. If your Fitbit device didn't pair, restart it. For instructions see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  4. Try setting up your device again.
  5. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet (turn it off and then back on).
  6. Try setting up your device again.
  7. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet.
  8. Try setting up your device again.
  9. If you can't set up after removing all other Fitbit devices, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app.

I would contact Fitbit support and tell them everything you have done, when and how this began happening, eg mine began occurring halfway through a firmware update, and just keep replying to their emails telling them what is happening until you have a solution.

I replied to at least 3 of their emails before they sent me a suggestion that has worked.

They were fantastic for me, I strongly recommend contacting them.

I’m sorry my suggestion hasn’t worked for you 😕
