Fitbit versa 2 wont connect my amazon acct to alexa

Hey everyone, I'm trying to connect my (pre-existing) Amazon acct to alexa on my versa 2 for voice assistance. I have an android phone. When I type in my email and password for Amazon for Alexa setup, it tells me email already in use and won't connect it and to use a different one.. I have already cleared browsing history and cookies from my chrome on the phone for "all time" and it still won't let me log into Amazon so I can utilize Alexa. I'm not sure if you can use a pre-existing acct or if you need to use a new one for the Amazon to pair? Can anyone help me with this?
