Fitbit versa. Getting text notification but can't open it to reply

I have just bought a new Fitbit versa.  I have enable notifications, I do received a text notification but it wont allow me to open it to reply.  What am I doing wrong.  Then the notification disappears and I can't bring it up again.  Can anyone help

@kamol I'm guessing you're using Samsung device. Make sure that Preview of the message is enabled - go to your messaging app settings, and enable Preview on the screen. By default, Samsung phones have it disabled, which means message can't be seen on the phone's screen and Versa cannot read it.

Thank you for your reply. I am using an HTC..i have had a look on my phone to see if I can see this but I can't find anything that's disabled.
I get the notification on the fitbit but I can't open or answer them on the fitbit. Then they just disappear, is this normal.

@ Check the settings within the messaging app itself. Also, make sure that any app you would like to receive notifications for on your Versa has the push notifications priority set to at least HIGH (this can be done in the Android settings>Notifications). Please see my post here for more info.
