Fitbit versa not reading my heartrate

I just got my fitbit versa for Christmas and got it all set up. Everything works great but it's not registering my heartrate/bpm. I tried impairing it and re-pairing it and it still won't work.

@Jlm75 Open the Settings app on your Versa (looks like a gear cog) and scroll down to Heart Rate. Toggle it OFF and ON with a reboot of Versa in between. To reboot Versa, press and hold the left and bottom right button until Fitbit logo flashes. Also, please make sure you're not wearing your Versa too loosely. Try tightening the band and moving it up higher on your arm.
