Fitbit versa not syncing

Hi there everyone,

I'm noticing my fitbit versa is not syncing. If I logged a workout, it will not show in the overview on my fitbit watch. It will not show my sleep, it will not show the weather report (it will state it need to sync with my phone). Only when I open the fitbit versa app, then sync the device with my phone, it will show up a few minutes later, which is a shame because the reason why I have the watch is so I don't have to grab my phone all the time. Anyone knows how to solve this problem, or is this normal? It seems strange because you actually log a workout with the watch, so you would expect it to immediately show there, instead of first syncing it with my phone via the app. I also checked the settings but I do have it on continuous synchronisation.

Any thoughts? Let me know.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Kirsy

@KLvP Welcome to the forum. Two thoughts:

  1. Is All-day Sync and Always Connected (if you're on Android) enabled in the Fitbit mobile app?
  2. If you're on Android, is Fitbit mobile app being optimized in Android Battery Settings? Please make sure it's not.

I've had my versa for less than a month and it seems to be a very normal thing. I've gone 2 straight days with having no syncing issues and that was only one time. Usually it's every single day. For a watch that cost $200, it's terrible. Out of the 4 devices I've owned, this is by far my least favorite even though it was the most expensive. This versa is making me look into other non fitbit devices...

Hey there, thanks for the reply. Not sure though, I have an iPhone.

Yeah, I get it. It's the whole idea of having a watch > not to have to grab your phone all the time. For me this was a better alternative to an Apple Watch because of its aesthetics (I really don't like the look of the Apple Watch) and price. But now not sure anymore. Also the way they promote that you would have a coach on your versa, but leaving out the fact that you only have this if you buy a subscription.

@KLvP If you have an iphone, please make sure All-day sync is on. The recalculated data needs to be synced back to Versa. To restore proper connectivity, try doing this:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo appears
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app. Do not pair in phone's Bluetooth settings
  6. Grant all permissions incl pairing
  7. Make sure Fitbit Notifications are enabled in your phone Settings. If they are switch them off, sync, switch them back ON, and sync again. Please follow steps 1-3 from my post here to properly set up the notifications on your iPhone.

If you have Wifi set up, go to Fitbit mobile app and remove it, then sync your Versa. I noticed that it causes issues for me. If you have other Bluetooth devices paired with your phone, forget them. One of them might be causing issues. Again, make sure All day sync is enabled.
