Fitbit versa not tracking the km I bike

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Dear all,

My new fitbit versa does not track the kilometres I bike, only the time spent. Is there anything I must click on the watch to save the kilometres?

Thank you so much!

Hi there @estefaniadk, nice to see new faces in the Fitbit Community. I'm wondering how are you tracking your bike exercise?

If you want to see distance recorded I recommend to use the connected GPS feature of your Fitbit Versa. If you are letting your Versa automatically recognized the activity through SmartTrack, distance won;t be displayed.

The following article will give you a grasp of the modes to track your exercise: How do I use exercise apps and modes on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps and if you have more questions, stay tuned to our Community.

Dear Roberto,

I have tried in two different ways:

1) I have registered the exercise "bike" but the connecting ... never really connected. I have active Bluetooth on the phone in case it is needed. it has registered as if I have walked, when I have put on the watch I am biking and it did not save the route, only the time, heart rate and calories.

2) I have also tried doing it on the phone in "track exercise" but there I do not have the option "bike" only: run, walk and hike. I put run anyway to try, and it registered it as run, but I am not running, I am biking. I do not have that option. Why?

Thank you!

Dear Roberto, this is my biking activity today (in reality is around 10 km in 46 minutes, the minutes are tracked right). The 0.76 km I think it is just some of the steps I walked before I stopped the activity.

I am having a couple of issues:

1) km/pace while I run is way off. I am very familiar with my pace and running routes and neither of these tracked are correct on my versa. I run with my phone and use Strava/nike apps that are very accurate and my watch doesn't correlate.

2) Versa is not tracking the kms I bike. Only time and spent is tracked.

Roberto, I tried the link you sent and followed the steps. My versa does vibrate when I start an activity, but kms still are not being tracked.

Same problem here as well.

The Fitbit Versa collects the time-data and actually tracks the bike-ride on the map - but it is not tracking the number of kilometers...

This has to be a bug?

Good to know it is not only me. How do we solve it???

my versa does not count the km in bike mode.

it also incorrectly counts km in run mode.

Hi Roberto,

I have the same problem, i use the manual option for starting the activity (bike). I can see in the app the route I made, the time and everything but not the km done.

Please your help

I have new fitbit versa this does not track bike mode KM travllled.

fitbit application also looks to be bad. if time is calculated more than one hour how distance shown can be .28 km..   I have not seen this problem in run or walk mode to this extent

I contacted Fitbit support team and we did some troubleshooting but the problem still happening. When I bike it does not recognize the KMs. And I noticed too when I run, it track the kms but it doenst give me a map, which it should, since its using GPS.

They are looking into the problem, but it might be an issue with android devices. I have a Google Pixel 2.

Hoping this can be resolved soon. Because I bike to work, and I want to track my total  KMs every week.

Otherwise I will probably just get another watch like Garmin, Samsung or Ticwatch.

It is so sad and annoying to see that it still happens, for me it is the same. One year after, the fitbit cannot register the kms I bike, there is a clear issue with the "connected GPS" constantly trying to connect, but hopeless. Today I biked 23 km, the fitbit registered 1.01km... and cut most of the route...

Hello Barry,

Check the watch/clock face screen you have chosen. I changed the face of the watch to one of the official ones and that helped, now I have again one of the clock faces that is not official, but it works. Good luck and keep me posted!
