I am having this exact same problem. Day 1 of my new Versa with absolutely no luck in using it. Very frustrating.

I'm going to start with the obvious, forgive me if you have already done it, it's a process.

Have you setup the watch on the app according to the installation instructions?  Setup

If you have set it up make sure it is not currently downloading or trying to install the latest firmware/software you will be unable to use the watch until this is complete.

Have you tried restarting the watch, hold the left and bottom right buttons until the logo appears and the watch vibrates.

Hello,
Yes I did all of the above. I spoke with someone at costumer service
yesterday and I was told you will exchange it. How long before I get the
new one??

Same issue here. Have had my versa since september and working great. Yesterday it went blank at 60% battery. As soon as I placed on charger it powered up and turned on. At 100% took it off and went blank again.

Today I restored to factory settings and started all over. Thought I was in luck but first time I took it off the charger it shut off again. Any solutions??

I want able to find a solution. Fortunately/unfortunately they will be sending me a new one, however I am now worried about this happening again! Then what?

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

It seems to be a lucky dip. Some get one that works well while many others get one that fails almost immediately. With today's technology there should not be anywhere near as many failures as there seems to be, especially where the battery is concerned. Perhaps if they had bothered to implement a replaceable battery then perhaps there would be fewer entire units being sent back as faulty.

I had 2 Ionics fail within 4 months of each other but have so far been lucky with the versa, though it is still less than 6 moths old yet.

It would make for interesting reading to see the books showing the number of faulty items returned, but that'll never happen at least not publicly. Many of the issues appear to be battery related (but that is only going from the comments posted here, I could be way off in my view)

I am having this exact problem since last night. Today I decided to do a factory reset while on charger and tried a fresh setup. But now my phone app won't connect to the watch. It seems there is an issue with the watch Bluetooth.

Any ideas?

Mine did the same thing to me yesterday, I rebooted the watch and also rebooted the phone, then I turned off the Bluetooth and started it again and all is working again. Although my Versa did reboot itself today when I tried to activate an exercise activity so I had to manually reboot it again, so far it is still functioning normally.

You could also try removing the versa from your account and then add it back in as a new device (could be risky if there is an issue with the battery or Bluetooth though)

I would like to return this watch. It goes dead when removing from charger and still not synching. Bought it last November and been using it since end December.

Can I get some help from Fitbit? Thanks

I have had this Versa since April, and it has worked well until now. Starting this afternoon, the screen went blank even though the battery was at about 70%. I put it on the charger, and it lights up again. As soon as I take it off, it goes blank. It is now at 100% battery but will not work unless it is on the charger. Any thoughts or help to offer?

@SunsetRunner  I finally had to get Fitbit to replace the Versa, they did it about a month ago. Very satisfied with the customer service I received.

I ended up ditching my Versa in favor of an Apple Watch, and I’m very happy with the swap. I’ve had zero issues with the AW after having three Versas fail in about 9 months.
