My fitbit versa stopped working all of sudden.
Tried many tips provides on the community forum but in vein.
Problem: Black screen (rather nothing on the display), if I put it on charger, it shows 0% for 1 sec and then 100%. If I take it off the charge, it’s dead again.
Tried unlinking it from the iPhone app, re-configured again but no luck still.
Have a feeling that the watch has given up.
This is important for me because I took part it National Walking Month event and I need to ensure my steps are accurately captured.
Any help is highly appreciated!

Hi Miranda, I know how frustrating this is! I typed my problem on google and asked if anyone else had this problem with their fitbit and there were a lot of reply's saying just as you and I, they too had the same problem, but one person, SunsetRunner posted a solution, I did what he said and my fitbit came back to life! This is what he said to do: Restart your Versa 4-6 times in a row by pressing and holding the left and right lower buttons together until you see after each restart the fitbit logo and release the butons. This will reset the internal system of your fitbit.
Try it, I hope it works for you.
Take care

Yes I have tried this multiple times. The issue is that it never flashes the logo, stays black.

Sorry to hear that it didn't work. When I think back, as I pressed the buttons, I don't remember the logo flashing, but it was blue and I put it in the charger and the screen showed 7% power then went black, I just left it on the charger for 1 hour, when I took it off it was working! Call fitbit customer service and tell them you tried this and see if they offer any other options.
Take care

Amazing to see all the comments about watches just quitting. 25 percent won't help me, and I doubt I will ever buy one again.

That is exactly what mine does. No logo - no nothing. Very unhappy with fitbit at the moment.

LadySonny seems like a corporate plant. You call customer service and they'll say it's bricked and offer you 25% off a new one. Great, thanks.
When mine bricked, i tried all the suggestions. The suggestion to press the two buttons until the fitbit logo shows never worked. Never got a logo, nothing but black screen. A few days after giving up and not touching it, i was about to toss it out, but I decided to give it one more shot. I put it back on a charger, this time a different charger than before. And to my surprise, it lit up with 0% charge! Now it's back to life and charging fine on either charger.
But, yesterday my wife's bricked in the same way. I've tried the two-button reset maybe 17 times, nothing but black screen, and no response on the (original) charger. I'm hoping that when I get back to the other charger it will also come back to life as mine did.
I know. this isn't totally helpful, but I just wanted to post that (at least) my versa mysteriously came back to life.

OK... Mine quit working a couple of days ago. Tried the restart several times...no response. Today I picked up the watch and the face read 0% whereas it has been black face for 2 days. It is on the charger now so time will tell if problem resolved. Weird.

This worked. I am so excited I thought I would have to get a new FitBit. Is there a reason this happened? I love my Fitbit Versa!!!!!

Glad it worked and glad I could help! I haven't a clue what caused our Fitbit's to stop working, just happy it's working again!

My Fitbit Versa bought in Summer 2018 also stopped working after 2 years and 1 month. The battery won’t charge and when you put it on the charger it just heats up the Versa (same as observed by another customer). My warranty apparently expired in July 2020 (1 month ago) so they won’t replace it. They offered me a so-called “35% discount” but it’s actually just £10 less than what Argos sell it for as full price. Clearly a faulty product that doesn’t last longer than 2 years having read these reviews and will be purchasing an Apple Watch where there is better customer service and product quality. Apple Watch Series 3 is £199.99 (full price) which is the same RRP Fitbit is selling it’s Versa 2 for (and clearly the latter only lasts 2 years per my review and those of everyone else here)!

What's the email address for customer Service?
I really enjoyed the Fitbit Versa while it worked but now it's useless. Have tried all of the reset options and unlike many others who were fortunate to have it die within the 1 year warranty, this was a christmas gift in 2018 so no longer covered. I don't want a discount on another disposable device. Very disappointing quality and support.

TY TY TY SunsetRunner,
I've had mine just over a year and the warranty ran out a month ago. I'm glad I searched the forum and found your suggestion. RESTARTING IT WORKS!!! Fortunately, mine worked on the first restart.
