Do you get the one year warranty if you preorder on amazon vs. Fitbit.com?

Fitbit provide a 12 month manufacturer's warranty (24 months if you are in Europe) providing you buy from an approved retailer such as Amazon.

Hello
Is Best Buy included as an authorized retailer? I don't see them listed which is odd given their prominence as an electronics store.
How long is the warranty if you buy from a non authorized retailer? My Versa won't charge or turn on.
Thanks

As you say, it's not on the list so I guess not.
There is no warranty for products bought from a non-approved retailer.
I think your best bet would be to get in touch with customer support anyway. They can clarify the position with Best Buy and explain your options: contact.fitbit.com

Hmmm I bought mine at Staples.... it’s not on this list either! My Fitbit Charge is cracked and the band is falling apart, I bought it in February.

My charge HR lasted 2 years, but my wife had to keep super gluing the band back on to the little screen. It just kept coming apart. They were designed awful. Now my brand new Versa screen went out after barely 6 weeks of gentle use.

This absolutely sucks! I was not aware until NOW, that if a retailer (Kohls) sells an item they may not be listed on the “Authorized Retailers” list.
I purchased my FitBit Versa back in late May 2019 which was an upgrade from my Fitbit HR. I loved it… in August, my versa all of a sudden lost the Bluetooth connection with my phone. I was able to re-connected it back. THANK GOD!
It happened again. I have completed all troubleshooting instructions on reconnecting the Bluetooth and finally, set the versa back at factory setting to reinstall it and no acknowledgement. I am FURIOUS, not only did I waist $200 but FITBIT has lost a customer.
Very upset customer! JaKaa

***UPDATE 5/23/2021***
So, after my brand new Versa died 2 weeks after I originally purchased it, I sent it back to Fitbit. It took them 6 weeks to send me back a refurbished Versa that has lasted me almost 3 years. It still works just fine, but I have to charge it every 2.5 days. That's not the end of the world. I keep a charger by my desk and one in my truck as I spend a lot of time driving my pickup for kids, work and driving out to the Airport where I Pilot scenic flights for people with money. I rely on my Fitibit a lot, especially when I am flying a Cessna 172. I don't like taking my eyes off the Instruments and the airspace around me so I quickly glance at my fitbit for time. It's very convenient. My next smartwatch will have to be waterproof. The Versa is not. Never submerge yours in water.

Kohl's is certainly an authorized retailer. The list they post on here is incomplete. Sams and Costco aren't on it either. My guess is the ones on the list paid to be mentioned.

No they will not honor the warranty if you bought it off of Amazon. Bought my Charge 5 off of Amazon. The screen just went black, rendering it unusable and I haven't even had it 5 months.
I've been on chat with their help desk for 2 days not and I just got this final reply back from my help request-
"Because your product was purchased through an unauthorized reseller, it’s not covered by our warranty. For the details of our return policy, visit www.fitbit.com/returns
The warranty covers Fitbit products purchased directly from fitbit.com or an authorized retailer. We advise contacting the seller from whom you purchased the product for further assistance.
For a list of popular authorized retailers visit www.fitbit.com/where-to-buy
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Sincerely,
jcoel and the Fitbit Team"
I would've been a lifetime premium Fitbit customer if they had fixed this issue that would've cost them around $30. Needless to say, I'm never trusting this company again.

Not true. Fitbit told me I have no warranty because Amazon is not an authorized retailer.

@DrRobynK Amazon is an e-commerce marketplace, like @MarkMM wrote. I hope this link works. Here is a Charge 5 page on Amazon. Notice there are three options and prices. The $148.95 option is Shipped and Sold by Amazon. One option is sold by a third party, but shipped from Amazon, one of Amazon's e-commerce models. One is shipped and sold by the third party, another e-commerce model. You bought yours from a third party.
An item must be shipped and sold by Amazon for Fitbit's warranty coverage. It protects consumers from counterfeit goods. I recently saw a headline where a large shipment of counterfeit electrons was seized by US Customs.
