Fitbit wouldn't sync and now won't connect to the app

For a month, I have not been able to sync my fitbit.  The time is wrong and no matter how many fixes I am given by the multiple people I have talked to, nothing changes.  I can't see my steps on my main watch face.  I have seriously tried every fix, multiple times.  And now, after following suggestions given to me by them, I can no longer even connect my watch to my app.  I have tried on a different device and I get the same thing.  So frustrating considering this is just six months old!!! I used to rave about my fitbit to everyone - now I'm going to rant and rave about how people should get a different tracker!

@mandgrl Can you please share your Versa model, phone model and OS, and Versa's firmaware version?

I have a regular Versa (not the lite or 2) with a Samsung S8 and Android version 9. I'm not sure what the firmware version is on the Fitbit or how to find that 🙂

@mandgrl To check your firmware version, please open Settings app on your Versa, scroll down to About and tap. Version is listed on top. As you said you hadn't been able to sync for a month now, I am assuming you're on the previous version of the firmware (Fitbit's been rolling out an update). To restore your tracker connectivity, please try the following:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings. Do not pair again from within phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Grant all permissions incl pairing
  7. Sync
  8. Make sure All-day sync and Always Connected are enabled in the Fitbit mobile app. Make sure to sync after enabling them
  9. Make sure Fitbit mobile app is not being optimized by Android. Go to Battery Settings on your phone to check that.

@mandgrl Also, because you're on Pie and Samsung, please go to:

Settings -> Device care -> Battery -> Settings -> Sleeping apps -> Add -> Make sure Fitbit is unchecked -> Add -> Restart phone

Samsung kills background apps.

I have tried all of that and nothing works! My phone won't even find it anymore. It won't accurately track my activity/sleep/steps...it's useless!
