Fitibit Versa screen is black and won't turn on

My fitbit versa malfunctioned and it kept going to the timer even though I didn't press any buttons or touch it and then the screen flashed and it turned off. The screen is black and the lights on the back are off. Putting it on charge didn't help and neither did trying to reset it by pressing the buttons. What should I do?
