Fix for Versa "Data not cleared"

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

As the title states, this is a possible FIX for the "Data not cleared sync and try again" issue that myself and others have come across. If this does not belong here moderators, I apologize. I just hope this FIX will help others and the Fitbit team in the future.

Earlier today (June 10th 2020) I tried to factory reset my versa since it didn't pair with my Galaxy Note 10+ 5G phone. Unfortunately, I ran into this issue and with many searches for a fix and multiple force restarts later, nothing was working and i was pretty much losing hope.

However, I found my own fix that worked for me and I hope this works for everyone else who has this issue as well.

1-6 are precautionary steps and are recommended but you may skip to 7.

  • 1. Unpair your fitibit from the Fitbit app and Bluetooth.
  • 2. Uninstall and reinstall fitbit.
  • 3.Turn off Bluetooth and Location.
  • 4. Restart your phone.
  • 5. Force reset your fitbit. (Hold left and lower right buttons till logo appears and release. This will take you back to the notorious Red X and circle.)
  • 6. Turn on Bluetooth and location.
  • 7. Open the fitbit app, sign in and setup new device.

(From everything I read, this is where people have troubles as the Fitbit does NOT want to pair. What I discovered is that your device is actually timing out before the app can connect to it. The fix, is actually just to keep the fitbits screen awake so that the app can make the connection to the device.

  • 8. TL;DR. Rapidly press the left button to keep the screen awake.
  • 9. Enjoy your fibit once again!

If all goes well it should reconnect you and/or ask for confirmation.

If not, I'm sorry this fix didn't work for you.
