Food log flash won’t turn on since update

I have an iPhone. I have always been able to log food by scanning the barcode. It usually only works if I turn on the flash in the app because it needs the direct light. Since the app update a few days ago and the firmware update the flash icon is there but nothing happens no matter how many times I press it. In order to log food through the barcode I have to hold my phone and food item under a lamp. It’s very frustrating. I like my Fitbit Vera. I’ve had it almost a year. However, in that time there hasn’t been a time when everything on my Versa and the app has worked properly. It’s frustrating that a device that could be great is plagued by so man issues even after this latest update seemed to fix the other problems now it’s created a new one. Is there a way to fix this flash issue?

Let me help you with your bar code scanning. Start by logging out from the app, restart your phone and log back in. Also make sure that the app is up to date.
