Hi all,
after reading all the posts of problems with unlocking the Versa, I would advice you all not to lock your Versa to use Vpay untill Fitbit has found a solution to only enter the pincode when you're using the Wallet to pay. I installed today my Credit Card in the Wallet app and entered the pincode needed. After having finished that, I moved my wrist, pressed the home screen display and the Versa asked for my pincode. So, this means that when you enable Vpay, you always have to enter your pincode everytime you use your Versa. This should not be the case. Although it's understandable from the point of view of security and privacy, it's an overrated reaction. Asking for the pincode must only be asked when you use your Creditcard to pay by Vpay and not all the time. I had the luck that, although my Creditcard was supported, my bank was not, so it was pretty easy to undo the locking of my Versa. I unlocked it by pressing the watch icon in my dashboard of the Fitbit app and scrolling down to Device Locking, entering my pincode and just disabled it.

Yes @Marrrmaduke if I set the Versa to lock the whole device it acts the same way and why I set the lock too only lock three wallet.
It seems that anytime the tracker inadvertently thinks it has been removed from the arm, the tracker gets locked.

@SunsetRunner No, that's not the case. Please refer to this help article. You need to enter PIN code at least once a day or if using Fitbit Pay. There might be additional requirements from your financial institution. Also, obviously Versa needs to detect your pulse well, so it knows it's on your wrist.
The main problem I see is users removing Versa from their Fitbit account (Fitbit mobile app) when the device gets locked. There's no way out of this but performing a 3-button factory reset (usually without success), or contacting Customer Support.

Hi M, unfortunately I have other experciences with the Pin. I activated Vpay and thus a pincode. When I did not move my wrist for more than 5 minutes and then moved it, the Versa switched on and asked everytime to enter my pincode. If you have a solution for that, I will going to use Vpay, untill that time I won't. Am I'm doing anything wrong?

Unfortunately I already did that but nevertheless it keeps asking for my pincode.

@SunsetRunner I would set it up again from scratch. The only two reasons I see for this type of behavior are a weird glitch or versa getting confused if it's on your wrist (pulse detection). Unless you're near NFC device that triggers it! Like your phone, or NFC card... Anything with a chip.

As a result of your posts, I deleled the Wallet app, changed the device protection, restarted my Versa, reinstalled Wallet, entered my Card and entered a pincode. Device protection activated only for Vpay and saved all these information. Starting the Wallet app on my phone, it asked the pincode only for Vpay/wallet, going to the Versa, moving my wrist and the first it does is after 2 secs to enter my pincode.

@SunsetRunner Does it keep asking for the PIN all the time? Have you tried magic tricks aka rebooting the tracker, taking it off and putting back on, etc.?
@Rich_Laue Does your Versa behave the same when locked???

Hi, yes it keeps on asking for the PIN all the time, after unlocking it with the PIN, the Versa acts as usual. And of course I tried all the know tricks to avoid/solve it, with no luck. Does it makes a difference if you have a Versa or a Versa SE. I have the last one. But, all in all, it's not that big a problem for me cause when I buy something, the amount is always higher than you're allowed to with Vpay. Therefore I deinstalled the Wallet app and disabled the locking option of the Versa. I just started this topic as a result af all the users mentioning the "unlocking problem". Thanks for your help, regards kuzibri
BTW: Regarding this you wrote: "The main problem I see is users removing Versa from their Fitbit account (Fitbit mobile app) when the device gets locked. There's no way out of this but performing a 3-button factory reset (usually without success), or contacting Customer Support."
I always advice in my messages not to remove or unpair there Versa from the Fitbit account, but unfortunately they mostly already did.

@Rich_Laue can you confirm that if you have it locked only for fitbit pay, you do not have any issues with Versa requesting PIN all the time? As I mentioned in my posts above.

Yes M, I can confirm that. After entering my correct PIN everytime my Versa asks for it, I enter it and my Versa acts normally. At this moment this is not applicable anymore cause I removed the Wallet app and also the disabled the PIN in my Firbit app. Thanks!

@Marrrmaduke if I have the tracker to only lock Fitbit pay, I only see asked to unlock for Fitbit pay
If I want settings or music I simply swipe the screen left out right, not pin needed.
No need to unlock the watch even when first placing it on the arm.
I also find that Fitbit pay doesn't stay unlocked for the 24 hours that it should when I haven't removed the tracker.

@Rich_Laue Thank you, that was my point exactly! 😄 @SunsetRunner you might have to factory reset the tracker again if yours behaves differently.

I hope you're doing well @SunsetRunner . I am curious to know if you tried a factory reset like @Rich_Laue and @Marrrmaduke suggested. Since you are quite knowledgeable about Fitbit stuff I would appreciate the input you have about this situation.
I look forward to your reply.

Hi, many thanks for reply and asking. No I did not perform a Factory Reset for a simple reason: I added my card to the Wallet and when all was finished and done, it told me that my bank was not (yet) supported. So I just deleted the Wallet after first entering the code, restarted my Versa and all was fine again. Ni pincode rewuired anymore.
