Hi there!

I'm a potential owner of a Ftibit Versa. Since I come from Pebble I had a lot of hopes on the Versa.

But negatively surprised coming to this forum and seeing only complaints about the Versa and reading many people talking about sending it back to the shop. Problems connecting, syncing, updating, poor accuracy, horrible music controllers and notifications..

Is that for real? Is it really that bad? Any hopes fixing all this with the last update?

Thanks to everyone!

I'm at the 3rd versa now,

I still have to find a compatible phone, I can use it only at home with the pc, obviously no notifications.

I have 3 samsung, 2 oneplus, and the huawei of my father, but nope, none of the 3 versa can sync.

And I need a third paty app that mark as exercise "driving" because when I'm driving I make almost 2000 steps and 30 floors every 20 minutes. So, I make a lot of exercise, yep.

The HR monitor and sleep monitor are awesome, and the app also. It's cute, has a lots of app that I'd love to use, but can't.

Music is fine, you can import thing from itunes really easy, but I have too the problem with earbuds, if I keep the hands down I stop hearing. No problem at all with a speaker.

Battery is good, 3,5 days/4 days as promised.

I'd love being in the million, but I have no idea how to do that. (worst is that I have no answer on why I'm in the 100, only "phone not compatible" and for the step/floor things "It's tech, it's normal that it's not perfect" (but my lost gear was 😕 ). And obviously, being in the 100 means a lot of mean comments from who don't have problems, just get over it and make peace with not have the 100% of the functions because well, **ahem** happens (to others).

[ps: if you come from pebble, don't expect anything like that little jewel]

Welcome to the internet!

I've had mine for about 2 weeks and have zero issues.

I’ve had mine since April 16th. I haven’t had any big issues with it. I do have the gps problem of it constantly disconnecting but it could be my phone service or what not. But overall, I’m pretty happy with my purchase. I’ve been enjoying it. There are some third party watch faces that seem to randomly restart the Versa. I was using one called Spacex and my Versa kept restarting. Switched it out to another watch face and my Versa is fine. So I wouldn’t fault Fitbit on that so quickly. Who knows how many Versa were returned due to third party apps making the Versa wonky. If you’re still worried, I’ll get it from Best Buy with their warranty. Seems to be easier to return to them then through Fitbit.

I compared the iwatch to the versa and was excited to learn that the versa came in strong and for half the price.

I have only had mine for 5 days and the battery hasn't lasted more than a day. That is with the sync off and no notifications and no music. This defeats the purpose of me getting it if I can't get the notifications and have to keep checking my phone.

I have not even attempted to download music yet!

I did speak to customer service and they gave me a list of things to do to stop the battery drainage, but they were all things I had already done.

I am going to give it a few more days with no notifications and no syncing then see how the battery drains and then contact customer support again.

I want it to work and be useful for me.

I think some people frustrations with quality issues are real but I also think they are isolated cases, so I will give you my experiences. For the record I was very close to returning mine but opted to keep it.

History:
Charge HR owner for 3 years. The thing serves it's time but the battery barely holds a change anymore.  I can get thru half a day so I use it as a beater fitbit for when doing yard work, mountain biking.  It is not a full time watch anymore and hasn't been for 2-years.

Also owned a Blaze for two years. Now crapped out, 100% dead. Around Easter after washing my hands, the screen froze up for about 10 minutes, then came back to normal, then the whole thing died about 10 days later. I don;t wear it in the shower or swimming but it gets wet washing/rinsing my hands. I think it got water damage from that. Very bummed cause I loved the Blaze.

I was torn between getting a Charge HR 2 or the Versa. Opted for the Versa cause it still looks professional (like the Blaze), liked it was waterproof, and liked it could store music.

Versa Pros:
  • Looks good (except the band I think the band is cheap looking)
  • Screen is awesome
  • Hope it really is water proof and will last longer than Blaze
  • Running with music and no wires or bulky phone is AWESOME
Versa Cons:
  • Band looks cheap
  • Loading music is a pain in the **ahem** and slow
  • Have to move Versa to right wrist to use music during running. The antenna on most Bluetooth headphones are on the right side.  Wth Versa on left wrist, the body causes interference and music is very choppy. No issues on right wrist.
I think the main motivator for me in keeping it is hoping with the water proof it lasts longer than the Blaze. If I get 2 years or less I am done with fitness watches. They should last a lot longer and I do take care of mine.

I pretty much view this as the same as the Blaze but with water proofing and music.

This is a help forum for people with issues. All tech companies have these forums to help others when they have problems. All tech has bugs. That is the world we live in. There is a reason whey we get firmware updates for the iphone every month it seems. Things are never perfect and they never will be. Just because you come to a help forum and see roughly 100 people with issues does not mean the other million do. I have an Ionic and my wife has a versa. No issues at all for either one.

Thanks for all your repleis. I assume there is a bunch of people without issues on its versa. Anyway to me there are some firmware issues I guess that are causing serious headaches to many users. May be I will give it a try and make some testing to see if it's good enough for me. I really really miss my Pebble
