I have recently got a Versa 2 and loving it - apart from the fact that it only intermittently uploads by runs or walks to Strava.
Having done a number of tests this week, I think the issue is with the GPS specifically - if this doesn't connect, it simply doesn't upload and the run shows in Fitbit as steps etc but nothing on Strava.
Have looked at various posts on here and this seems to be a big defect of the link up.. I have tried Fitbit support who only suggested removing permissions and then relinking. This made no difference. I then performed a factory reset on the watch - again no difference.
I now think I may have identified the issue - it only works if I open Exercise well in advance of the run and then wait for the watch to connect to the Iphone GPS. Yesterday this took 6 mins and today after 20 mins (!!) it still hadn't connected. This is totally ridiculous and a completely impractical solution if you want to jump out of bed and then exercise almost straight away.
Any other ideas or solutions please folks...?

Hello @lucywinf yes runs without GPS data will not be updated to Strava.
We need to look at the settings on your phone.
Does gps work with the Fitbit app open?
Does gps fail when the app is moved to the background?
If the Fitbit app is open in the foreground, does the gps fail when the phone locks? It should fail on android phones.
Does a restart of the phone allow the GPS to connect, for me it will connect long before the phone is usable.
What phone are you asking help for?

In addition to all of the great points @Rich_Laue mentioned, it may be important to know what release of the app you are running (especially when it comes to running the app in the background).
Before release 3.24, gps would always drop within 10 seconds of either 1) placing the app in the background or 2) locking the phone's screen (even with the app in the foreground). It would come back within 5 seconds of being returned to the foreground with an unlocked screen. (I tested it numerous times - over a dozen times alone during a leisurely 2 mile walk to the drugstore and the 2 miles back.
Yes, I am aware that the app is now at 3.26.1, but not everyone likes to keep up with the app's releases schedule and sometimes will stay with a much older release just because they are comfortable with it.
Either way, good luck and welcome to the boards.
