GPS distance not accurate

SOLVED: must wait for Connected GPS to connect before pressing start.

 

I regularly run a ~4.25mi route and my Versa 2 has calculated this dastance at 3.21mi, 3.84mi and 4.01mi.  This inconsistency and inaccuracy is very disappointing for a fitness tracker.

 

Fitbit Nike
3.21 miles 4.21 miles
3.76 miles 4.31 miles
4.01 miles 4.26 miles
