Google Chat(not hangouts) Fitbit notifications

So with Google discontinuing Hangouts and switching to Google Chat for Gsuite applications, I was forced to download google Chat.  In the Fitbit app, under notifications, there is a list of a bunch of apps i COULD receive notifications for, and Hangouts is in there but Google Chat is not.  I have been on live chat and don't seem to be getting anywhere because no one can tell me IF it is even an option.  Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks for posting your questions. I only have Hangout listed in my notification options, but when someone sends me a message via Google Chat, I get a notification just like I do from Hangouts. I have both application on my mobile device and I'm using an iPhone. Not sure if that helps you or not.

Darn it, I for sure am only getting notifications for hangouts, even when receiving messages on chat.  I appreciate your reply though!  The one I use in Chat is a gsuite through work(up until todays' update, it was working fine with Hangouts and now Gsuite isn't supported), so I wonder if it has to do with Gsuite/Chat more than Hangout/Chat.  I can't figure out what else it could be.

I actually tested the theory and added my personal gmail to Chat and STILL don't get Chat notifications...even better, now my hangout notifications have stopped as well.  🙄

I'm actually having the exact same issue with my Charge HR. Any luck on finding a solution?

I'm having the same issue.  Chat notifications don't come through my charge HR since google chat became the default messenger app through G suite.  Think someone in fitbit could respond to this?

Same issue. I get my Google Hangouts notifications, but not my Google Chat notifications. Fitbit Versa Version 72.1.9

Ok, I solved this for me at least. It took some doing. I uninstalled my Versa 2 and wiped it so I could start from scratch (you shouldn’t have to though). Basically, (if all

other notifications are working but not this one) go to the Fitbit app, click your avatar to get to your account, click your Versa 2, click “Notifications”, then click “App Notifications”, in the list of apps the chat app is listed for me as “com.google.Dynamite” (instead of “Chat” which I would expect). Once I turned on notifications for “com.google.Dynamite” the notifications started appearing on my watch. I do find this absurd as Google now owns Fitbit. Hope this works for others.

I did everything you did, except wiping my Inspire 2 and it worked! I got a chat notification on my Fitbit. Thank you so much!
