Google Tasks notifications don't come through to Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have Google Tasks set up to send me notifications on my Versa but they never come through to the watch. The notifications appear on my phone. I have gone into the notifications section of the fitbit app and checked the box for Tasks in "App Notifications". All other notifications from my apps come through correctly (calendar, email, texts, google reminders, google keep). It's just the google tasks that don't work.

@kristinlee1 It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your app notification on Versa. Check the Tasks app's permissions on your phone to see if this isn't what is affecting the feature. You can also refresh the link between your phone and your Versa by doing the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

I've tried all of the suggestions above on several occasions over the last
month. All of the settings are correct on my phone, for the tasks app, and
for the Fitbit app. The notifications never appear on my watch. I don't
have trouble with any other notifications, just the ones from Google Tasks.
Other Google application notifications come through fine.

I have the same problem. Nothing above worked. Still keen on a solution. Anyone?

After I replied that their suggestions didn't work, they asked if it was resolved and if they could close it.I said no and I haven't heard anything about it since then.

Has there been any traction on this?

I downloaded Google Tasks hoping that it would send notifications to my Fitbit Ionic. After downloading and allowing the relevant notifications the the Fitbit app and phone settings the app did not forward notifications to my Fitbit. Subsequently, I tried various things, including restarting my Fitbit/phone and switching on/off notification permission, and I was able to have one notification forwarded from Google Tasks to my Fitbit. However, I have not been able to reproduce this and it has not worked since.

Clearly the possibility is there, can anyone advise as to what may be the issue in my case?

I’m having the exact same issue. Google Tasks pops up on my phone but no traction on my FitBit Versa 2 no matter what I do

I'm getting the same problem, I will try a factory reset but I have no hopes. This is so disappointing, Google bought Fitbit but Fitbit do not support all Google application. A big minus for Fitbit and Google. Google needs to put Fitbit to work.

Not only do I have this issue with the separate Tasks app, I have it with Google Calendar and the "reminders" in it. If it's an "event" instead, then it will go to my Versa. If it's a "reminder" then it only shows on my phone and doesn't pop up on my Versa. I have all the settings correct, and recently did a reset on my phone and have restarted the watch. Nothing is making it work.

I figured it out! After all this time, I finally figured it out! If you add something to the "details" section of the task, they come through to the watch every time.

It works, it really works! Insane that you have to add unnecessary things to simple things, I mean who needs details in "take this allergy meds" , but I'll take it!

Unbelievable! Thank you for sharing!

I'd spent so long trying to figure out what I was doing differently the 2 times that I got this to work out of the 100s of times I'd tried! Excellent!

Thank you for going through such a tedious process and figuring it out. Your work is helping a lot. I was also frustrated initially. Currently I am in touch with fitbit support. Hope they can solve this bug.

Thanks again.

So glad I found this...was driving me bonkers.

Now to have Google Assistant able to add Tasks via Voice, but that's on Google. LOL

OMG this is still a thing and it's frustrating. Thank you for posting your update. I did all the things, updated, restarted, allowed notifications / permissions... But adding a detail makes it pop up everytime!! Thank you so much!!
