I know that we can use pandora and deezer but i already have a google play subscription. It's quite frustrating that i may have to subscricbe to yet another service so that i can listen to a wider amout of music.

@Madlovelady finally. I was just about to post that as well. Please use feedback feature in your Google music app to let Google know about Versa and Ionic. I already did. @LaurenTaylor @MW111804 @mal37 @_Sarah_

Agreed! I may not have bought the versa for that reason.

This is a footnote problem why is the solution to talk to Google??!

Because every application needs to be written by the owner of the service.

@maceyee because it's a two-way street. Google cooperation is necessary.

@maceyee and who owns the API? Who owns the google music service? Who pays for the traffic? Who who who?

So @maceyee i ask you: do you know what you are speaking about?

You are soo slow... Googles API's are open source, there are no licences to pay for. Google owns the API but allows developers to do as they wish to plug in... 'Open Source' do you get it.
Whats happening here is an exclusivity agreement. I bet you cant name another brand of smart watch that cannot plug into Googles open source API's and control not only google play but youtube, deezer, yahoo music, amazon music etc
This is squarely a Fitbit decision to not support Googles APIs duh!

Oh yeah, genius, can I understand why not a single player for Android, not a single one, implements Google Music?

@Giampi71 as I just got another coffee I can play too. @maceyee @ So, how's streaming/downloading directly from GPM going on your Galaxy Watch? Actually, it's ridiculous that many WearOS devices face this issue, too. Enjoying your workarounds? But, it's neither here nor there. Google has to have an interest in developing the app for FitbitOS. $$$ It's not a tech decision. It's a business one. $$$

I dont have a galaxy watch? but i do have android wear watches have had one since the LG G watch arrived.
Whats your point here? Galaxy watches are samsungs proprietary solution which is what fitbit is doing. Thats what i'm saying... this is not google this is a fitbit decision
PS Samsung is not strictly wearOS its a proprietary bixby thing

Once again I got the proof that the following quote is valid:
"Do not argue with a fool. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."
For all users that might read this topic:
The point is that the Google Music apps for Galaxy Watch, Apple Watch and Wear OS are made by Google because Google Play Music does not have a suitable API for any independent developer.
Look at the Clock app in Android and developed by Google: it integrates with Spotify and not with Google Play Music itself because it simply can't, isn't ridiculous?
The problem is that it's Google Play Music that is proprietary hence only Google can write an app for Fitbit.
So please keep sending feedback to Google to ask an app for Fitbit OS.

@maceyee awwww be nice to others. You obviously hear bells ringing, the problem is you're not exactly sure in which church. I'm impressed a little though that you went as far as googling restful APIs. Koodos to you, mate. Now, your mumbling about open source and official public GPM API availability is nonsense as there's none. All we have is bunch of unofficial APIs, with select few being actively updated. If you want to be able to e.g. download songs for offline use on your Fitbit, you will need aa reliable API, and Google and Fitbit onboard.

@lesterbangs The problem is that Google can't make any app for FitbitOS independently without working with Fitbit since the current SDK doesn't allow access to the storage. Deezer and Pandora developed their apps jointly with Fitbit.
