Fitbit Update: 2/19/19
Hi Versa Fam!
We're aware of an issue where some of you may be experiencing issues with your Versa no longer tracking heart rate (HR) and the lights below on the sensor don't flash.
If you come across this problem, please give the watch a restart. We suggest charging the watch to a full battery and monitoring the HR behavior afterward.
Just to make sure we have all the bases covered, double-check that you have Heart Rate turned "On" under the Settings app.
If your watch still isn't recording your HR, please let us know and we'll connect you with our Customer Support team.
Thanks for your troubleshooting efforts! We'll be around if you need us.

Just to update - I did the reset instructions in this post and the first time it didn’t work but the second time it did. Not sure what caused the blip but it works fine now. Also I sent a tweet to FitBit on Twitter and they responded instantly. I just had to do the reset twice. All good now!

@KiraPenton @UKtsb Did you guys try restoring Versa to factory defaults (aka factory reset)? I would recommend performing it several times. Please let me know if the issue still persists.

Over the past week, my heart rate monitor has abruptly stopped working twice. The first time, I was able to stop what I was doing and go through steps to get it working again. The second time, I was at work, and I wasn't able to turn my Fitbit off and back on. The result was a significant reduction in the amount of calories burned for the day.
I know how to fix this problem, but I'm VERY worried about the fact that, after having it for ten months, it has suddenly encountered the same error twice in a week. Could this be a sign that my Fitbit is going to die?

Hi @Brensi It isnt necessarily a sign of anything except the heart rate monitor has stopped twice. If it was mine I would contact Support (link in my signature) and let them know this is happening and ask for advice. That way if it keeps stopping they have a record of it and are aware of what steps you have made. I hope it resolves it's sel

Hey I just figured it out! Restart it! If you have a versa- you just hold the back (left) button and the bottom right button for 10 seconds till the Fitbit logo appears. Then you’re good to go!
