I’ve gotten myself a new watch and decided I’d hand down my Versa 2 to my child. She just recently worked off and earned her own new Galaxy Tab A9+, set up under her supervised Google account. I’d created her account via the standard method, however, when it came to adding the device, the only options available were the Ace. I am at my witts end trying to understand how Google permits text, calls, app’s to be downloaded with a parent’s permission, purchases with parent’s permission, yet does not even allow a parent’s permission to add any other Fitbit device outside of Ace. I currently have the Versa connected to my Google account so she can at least partially use it, but due to my child having a supervised account with her tablet, I can’t add my own Google account to the list of users (which is understandable). But that also means I can’t sign into the app to connect the device to her tablet. This is incredibly frustrating as I just want the device to connect to her profile on her tablet and not my phone. Her being able to manage her own stats, tasks, agenda, Spotify playlists, texts and other notifications is all I’m trying to do. Is there ANY workaround for this? How can I get this device to simply just connect to her app on her tablet? Is it possible to remove her from Family Link and switch her to a standard account long enough to get this device added to her profile and then switch her back to supervised? I love family link and the ability to supervise my child’s account and devices, but I can’t stand that I’m subject to an extremely limited selection of Fitbit devices. It really should be up to a parent’s discretion what device they use with their Google account considering she can be set up on literally any tablet on the market, not just a tablet marketed for kids, why can’t the same be done for Fitbit?
