Having trouble pairing Fitbit Versa with iPhone.

Hi Everyone

I've just got the Fitbit versa and I have to admit that I am very frustrated. I have repeatedly tried to pair it with my iPhone 6s iOS 11.3.1 but it seems that the watch cannot be found. I also tried to reinstall the application and sign up with a new account but I still face the same issue.

I would appreciate if you could provide with some assistance.

Thank you in advance

Panos

I've tried all of this and still can't get my Versa to pair with my iPhone 6s.  I received the Versa as a Christmas gift, and months later, I still haven't used it.  It pairs with my daughter's 6s, so I don't understand why it won't pair with mine.  The Apple Store Genius ran a check on my phone and said the bluetooth works fine,  plus I've had no trouble connecting with other bluetooth devices.

Help!  How do I get support to solve this?  I need it fixed before the end of May.

Two days of total frustration!  Finally I came to your instructions and it worked!  I had done everything but force quit the FitBit app.  That did the trick!  Thank you for your tech know how!

Follow these steps!

Thanks for sharing your experience with me and for letting me know you've already tried the troubleshooting steps to set up your Versa as a new device. As your watch is having trouble syncing, before trying to set it up as a new device, please try the following steps:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.
  • Restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

When I had problems with Bluetooth, the only way to fix it was to make my iPhone ‘forget’ my FitBit and then re-pair them.

Just one issue - the ‘previous track’ function on Music Controls (Bluetooth control of iPhone) has ceased to work recently. I have made a successful factory reset of my Versa and re-installed the FitBit app on my iPhone.

Also, the three dots feature ( ... ) under Music Controls is often unresponsive. It’s as though it needs a very precise point to be touched.

These are relatively minor issues, but disappointing none the less. Everything else seems to be working OK.

I lost Bluetooth on my FitBit Versa again last night. My iPhone Bluetooth settings page couldn’t detect the device.

I had to go to my account on the FitBit app, use ‘Remove This Versa’ and then add it again by using ‘Set Up a Device’. Frustrating!

...and the ‘previous track :fast_reverse_button: function still doesn’t work.

The ‘previous track’ function has been restored. No idea why. The only thing I have done is a few restarts of my Versa over the past few weeks (when it has stopped measuring heart rate).

Im having the same issues I tried every thing mentioned above is still not working.

very frustrating. My versa did sync a while back, I’ve had sense December 2018 when it first came out it worked just fine and all of the sudden after trying to instañl the bitmoji it stop syncing and I also gave up on the bitmoji  it didn’t work for me at all did not want to install regardless of everything I tried to do it just wasn’t  syncing, ever sense my versa will not sync at all to my Fitbit app. Again I tried everything turn on and off my phone and the versa removing the app disconnecting all blue tooth devices, check for new software update.

It is very frustrating.

Please help

Hi Deya 22,

Have you tried making your ‘phone ‘forget’ your Versa on wi-fi & Bluetooth, then reconnecting? I think that worked for me last time.

Also make sure you don’t have the ‘phone in low power mode - that tripped me up a few times.

Hope you get it sorted.

Mines not an iPhone, but an Android. I moved to another state and ever since, it wouldn't sync. I did everything but it still doesn't work. It won't even find my tracker much less connect to my wifi. I can't even pair it via Bluetooth. My Charge never had problems...

Hi,

I have troubles with my Versa not syncing normally with Huawei P 20 pro. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggested by Fitbit, but still have to delete the device from fitbit app and make factory reset, losing the data every three days. This makes the watch just useless.

The watch is still on warranty, is it possible to get a fixed one or should I just give up an return the watch for good?

Best Regards,

Valeria

I too have to re-sync my Fitbit Versa often. Today it won't sync at all. This thing is basically useless!

I have a Versa Lite that worked fine at first then started losing time then wouldn’t sync. Followed every step given to correct then deleted the device from the app and now I have nothing but the * download Fitbit app on the screen won’t connect to iPhone
