I am brand new to the Fitbit scene and actually returned an Apple Watch series 1 as I heard Fitbit it better at the fitness side of reporting. I have had my SE versa for about 3 weeks and low and behold look what happened. It appears Fitbit has a huge problem with the HR monitor as mine begin showing 0. It’s not like I turned off anything or did anything different. So I called up customer support and did all resets and “common” issue checks to make sure In fact I wasn’t a dummy. I also had to send in a video to show it’s on my wrist reading 0. Fitbit agreed to send me a replacement but it would take 2 weeks to get me it. What?! If I didn’t buy from Best Buy who didn’t have a lousy 2 week return policy I would be returning it through them. I’m not holding my breathe on the next unit. I am hoping Fitbit reads all these posts. I loved the watch when it worked but I didn’t pay a premium price tag for a unit that should never be sold with the current bugs it’s having.

I wasn't sure if I should start a different topic or include here... but here goes... I rec'd my Versa a few days ago and had been a faithful Blaze user - prior to... My heart rate monitor appears to be working but not registering the proper heart rate during exercise. Same treadmill, same speed, same amount of time, I barely EVER hit "peak" zones... With the Blaze however, almost my entire workout (after warm-up) was at peak. If you pay attention to "calorie burn" - I can't tell you how frustrating this is... I would have to workout and additional hour per day to gain the same calorie burn!!!... I tried going from 4.1mph to 4.2mph, then to 4.4mph... and rec'd not even 2 add'l increase in beats in HR. If I keep trying to hit my old calorie burn, I'll likely have a heart attack on the treadmill!!... I can't run 5.2MPH!!
PS: Have tried all the reset, reboots, "on/off"...etc.... Seems to me there is a serious issue with the HR Monitor in general... ANY SUGGESTIONS?? (Other than return the watch??)...

Garmin is the right choice. VA3 is awesome and I am a previous FB user.

Maybe it is the firmwareupdate 35.35.10.15? Mine is new, did the update on setup and I never saw a green light. HR is not working... In the troubleshooting they tell me to go to the app on my phone and turn the HR on, but there is no such option! Only on my Versa itself I can do that but that's not doing anything.

Hello. This is for all having this issue!
Bought 2 Versas for me and wife. 5.5 weeks later, mine appears to work fine as did my wife’s. However last night hers stopped tracking HR. We were in our pool and I was underwater with mine and she only floated in the sun and barely got hers wet! I noticed on hers, some tiny drops of moisture under the HR green light bezel. Now her light dimly flickers or doesn’t work at all and she has lost the HR feature. This indicates to me a quality control issue with FitBit at assembly! Mine doesn’t leak (yet) but hers appears to.
Having the same frustrating support as most of you here. I’ll be pissed but might have to cut my losses and go to a Garmin!
Bummer!

I bought my Versa in 05/12/18 and loved it. However, now the heart rate monitor has stopped. No more green lights on the bottom.
I will call FitBit company later but, If there isn't an easy, and quick, fix... I will return it and go with the Apple Watch.

My light is permanently off, even though the heart rate is turned on. This makes calories, flours and sleep totally inaccurate. No one seems to have a fix except to dump the versa. Anyone know anything about this issue????

I had lights on the back of my versa but now there are none --what's up? All was good until 2 days ago. I have reset everything and still no lights. Frustrating.

It appears to be a problem FitBit does not want to address. 😞

The problem is so pervasive that you'd think they'd be on it like white on rice. Disappointing.

People have had them replaced and they replacements quit working too.
I returned mine to the store so I could get the full-refund when mine quit working. Until they admit there is a problem, and fix it, I’ll stay away from it.

Have given up on Fitbit after 7 years of enjoying their products without issue. Frankly their customer service stinks. Nearly 3 months after purchasing the much anticipated Versa it is only getting worse. I have changed straps, changed positions, changed wrists, factory reset (repeatedly), downloaded new software, and had a brand new Versa replaced by them with a refurbished one!! The second Versa appears to be getting worse by the day, with less and less heart rate being recorded (although it has recorded a pulse when I haven't been wearing it!), resulting in inaccurate calorie burn, inaccurate sleep recording, inaccurate active minutes. Fitbit have sent me a further email requesting video footage showing the position on my wrist, showing me resetting it and then showing the lights on the back. Apparently I'm just sending them emails for fun and they don't believe there is an issue or that I can follow simple instructions on wearing and setting the watch.
Will be going back to Argos today to see if they will refund me my money as faulty goods. I will then seek to purchase a Garmin or other such device, but I won't be using Fitbit again.
For any fitbit employee monitoring this thread please feed back to your bosses that treating customers the way they clearly have looking at the forums, is totally unacceptable. Something has clearly gone wrong with your HR monitors, suck it up and deal with it properly.

I also had the same problem and i didn’t want to immediately send my watch for repair or replacement since it’s been performing quite well. I tried turning my watch off, then on. That didn’t work. So the next thing i did was i turned the heart monitor off (settings on watch), and then waited for 10 seconds to turn it back on. And it didn’t turn on immediately, but after a few seconds, it works!
