I've had a Versa for over a year and a few months ago the heart rate began to drop out in the Workout excercise routine. It got worse over subsequent months and so I contacted Fitbit and they replaced it.
Unfortunately the new one is having exactly the same problem. I can guarantee that when I switch on the Workout I won't see the heart rate for at least 30 seconds - it can sometimes be 3 minutes or so. Then it drops out several times within the space of a 30 minute workout.
The green light is still showing when the heart rate stops showing on the display and so I presume it's measuring the heart rate but it's a bit annoying as I use the heart rate as a motivation tool during the workout.
I could understand one unit being faulty but it seems really strange that the replacement is also like it.
Is anyone else having the same problem?

I had a fitbit versa that did this and I thought maybe it was time for a new watch so i bought the fitbit versa lite.
It does the exact same thing! incredibly frustrating and two different watches do the same thing?? really??
Sometimes I will look down at my watch and see it hasn't been reading my heart rate for quite some time and its just frustrating!!

Yes, I'm sure that there must be a software problem rather than a hardware issue as the second one has the same problem. I can't believe there haven't been more people with this issue.

My Versa 2 started doing this recently too. I purchased it in Dec 2019, and it had been picking up my HR during exercise until last week. I contacted customer service about it, as it also exits out of my workout to the clock screen now too. Their solution was to restart it (I’ve done that many many times already) and to manually log my exercise instead! I use the HR to guide my workouts, so this pretty much defeats the purpose of even having a HR monitor. Very disappointed with Fitbit. This is my 3rd device since 2015 (Charge, Charge HR, and now Versa 2). The Versa 2 has fallen short of my expectations. Might be leaving Fitbit for Apple soon. I need a reliable HR monitor!

This is my third device as wee (Charge 2, Versa, Versa Lite) and both Versa's have the same issue. Thinking I am going to switch to Garmin. The GPS is also shocking on my versa and I am over it. I tried the solutions they offer and it worked once, then went back to not tracking properly. I am over it.
