Has anyone else looked at your heart rate graph on zone minutes? Does it match your other heart rate graphs? Mine doesn't and when I look at it in the morning it looks totally normal. I mean it shows my heart rate not getting over around 74 but if I check it later on in the day it will show huge spikes in it. It's super weird.

Same to all of this! Just noticed today on my versa 2.

My Ionic has done this since zone active minutes were introduced. I’m sure I’ve posted something on here plus on FB and nothing has been mentioned about it.

I wondered if it something to do with calories being counted for the day and it was a forced program error which they’ve had to put in, in order  to balances the calories and activities out. Could be wrong, but if it is that then that would explain why it’s at such an odd time.

It would be nice of them to share the information in stead of confusing everyone who has noticed

Agree. The algorithm needs to be adjusted and/or explained and Customer
Service at Fitbit continues to deny this is happening. It’s very
frustrating and misleading. --

Hi

I have the same! I wake up and snyc and as expected no active minutes and heart rate overnight doesn’t peak (say it’s 60-80). Later i exercise and the zone minutes update but the heart rate graph in zone minutes shows a 1am peak as well (of 115 or even 130!). It doesn’t seem to match the normal heart rate graph when i go back to it either. It also doesn’t log the 1am peak as active zone minutes. It just appears when syncing after exercise.

I’ve asked fitbit on the live chat and they said  they can’t see it and see my heart rate at the ‘peak’ time overnight as 65.

it must be a glitch.

I know this is an older topic, but I came here searching for this because the same thing is happening to me with my Versa 2!  I get spikes every night between 1:00-2:30am, between 100-130bpm.  I have never checked it when I first woke up to see if they only appear later in the day... I will check that tomorrow.  But I searched for this topic because I was doubting that I had a HR spike every single night at the same time (and never woke up from it!).  Thank you for posting this and I really hope Fitbit fixes it!!

I’m having the same problem. It’s alarming and I don’t know if it’s getting counted into my total active zone minutes and therefore it’s actually not accurate.

I’m almost certain it’s the only way FitBit can balance the system due to some anomalies in their programming and they’ve placed it at that time when most will be asleep

To me, it would just make sense for FitBit to come clean and explain why to stop people from worrying. But that’s never been the FitBit way!

One thing is if you feel fine, you probably are and it’ll be like I’ve said “just poor programming on their part”. If you are worried, do remember this is just a device for a guide and with that in mind, go and seek medical advice

I am having this same problem with my new Charge 5. The graphs had been frustrating me, so I took a screenshot of the zone minute heart rate graph and the sleep heart rate graph first thing this morning. They are wildly different minute by minute.

What’s interesting is that later in the day when I looked at the zone minute heart rate graph again, it showed a large spike that was not there initially. Why would these spikes be showing up retroactively? It makes no sense for the already synced data to change later. Additionally, the spike on the first screenshot showed up while I was laying in bed looking at the graphs and most definitely didn’t have a racing pulse of 129 for 2 minutes straight.

for reference, here’s what the sleep graph showed.

Posted on another thread about spikes, but yes to this! Just recently noticed this. Put me in a panic. So it’s nice to see others are having this too, so very well is a glitch.

target zone graph shows 170bpm spikes almost all night.

sleep heart rate shows none of that. Odd spoke to 90 which is normal for REM.

so thankful for this forum. I knew the Fitbit was causing me more stress.

So glad I found this! I just tested positive for covid yesterday and have been pretty sick. For science I was checking out how different my zones are this week compared to when I was healthy last week and noticed that every night, covid or not, I’m getting huge spikes between 12 AM and 2 AM, shooting up between 110-140 while I’m fast asleep.

This data only shows up in the HR/Exercise graph but not in my Fitbit sleep graph and not in my Cardiogram. It has to be an anomaly.

Also, and this does show up on my Cardiogram, my heart rate is being logged as 160+ (A number I rarely hit even during cardio exercise) during my showers and baths when I’m not even wearing my device. It’s on my sink or in another room, far away from me. So, although it’s generally helpful, it’s a reminder that Fitbit is NOT a medical device.

Even though my Ionic has shown this since this feature was introduced, it has never shown it in my standard heart rate app section. So if yours is showing this in both, I’d go and get yourself checked out to be on the safe side as that’s different to what others are expecting like me

the peak only shows in the zone section of the app

this was mine from yesterday:

I’ve also given up caring about the HRM. Running today it was reading 192bpm and testing it against other equipment it’s been upto 40bpm (when doing exercise). Just another thing my second ionic has been useless with. The first one identical. Worst it’s been is 207bpm when I was jogging without a sweat

I’ve had the same issues with my sense since I purchased it may 2021. I even contacted fitbit about it this last august. They said it is a known glitch that they have been working on for awhile. Apparently, they can’t get it figured out.
