I am literally walking on my treadmill as I am typing this and I have the Fitbit app open on my phone so that I can see the heart rate without having to look at my wrist all the time. Also checking to see if it drops my heart rate. What I've noticed is the heart rate on the app is showing higher than what the Fitbit is showing. Why would that be? I am using the Versa Lite and I have an LG G7 ThinQ

Hi @SunsetRunner , the general problem with threadmill's exercises is just like you describre. One of the reasons for that is that, when doing this kind of exercises, you keep your arms still. The Versa does not only recognize your steps, and thus the HR, by walking, but also by moving your arms back- and forward when you're walking, which is not the case in the threadmill. This might explain the difference in HR between the Fitbit app and your Versa. Read a lot of topics about the same problem with threadmill exercises. Regards kuzibri.

@SunsetRunner Thank you for your reply. I should clarify. I know I said I was typing my message while walking on my treadmill, but I wasn't actually holding my phone with both hands while walking. I had my tablet and phone propped up on the treadmill and I was swinging my left arm that the Versa Lite was on and I was pecking on the tablet with my right hand. Even if I wasn't swinging the arm my Versa Lite was on, my heart rate is what it is and I would not expect there to be almost 10 bpm difference between the device and the app. What was really weird is the app was reading a higher heart rate than the devise. I would expect it to perhaps be the other way around. It eventually evened out, but I thought it was weird.
Also, I have never had a problem with it recognizing my steps while on the treadmill, because again, I am swinging my arms. I'm not holding on to anything. If I was, I know it's not going to count steps. Just like when shopping. If you're pushing a shopping cart with both hands, your arms aren't swinging and it's not going to count steps. People should not be surprised by that.
