Since I did an update to my Versa last Thursday, the heart rate monitor has not been working. While I am sitting still the heart rate display jumps around from 60bpm to 150bpm then back again in just a few seconds and is very random in between. I have powered it down a few times now and turned it back on again but nothing has changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, lets check a few things, to make sure things are correct, as others have noticed a similar issue.
What phone do you have?
What Fitbit app version do you have?
In the phone Fitbit App Click on profile photo [top left] Help & Support App Version at the top |
What tracker version do you have?
On the watch Swipe left Click on Settings Scroll & click on About Version near the top |

I’m so glad I’m seeing this. I am noticing the exact same thing today. I’m sitting here and it literally went from 84 to 72 to 142 to 115 back down to 84. And I was manually checking my heart rate and there was absolutely no fluctuation at all in my manual check?!

I am having the same issues. It started after I updated my firmware. I have tried turning the heart rate off and on. I have tried restarting my device. I tired returning to the factory preset, changing my clock face, even deleting my app and trying to redo the set-up of my Fitbit. I’ve still ended up with 8000 calories burned for a day when I took 1200 steps. My heart rate has been reading between 150 and 210 for a big part of the day. I turned it off and put it away. I can’t look at it anymore. I have an iPhone XR iOS 14.3 and a recently updates Versa.

Thanks for the info - You seem up to date
Thanks for the info - You seem up to date too.
Seems like this is a common issue. Possibly due to the 32.72.1.9 update, if it was working before.
In which case its probably best to inform Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.
NB. It seems the heart rate problems of the Sense and Versa 3 are now appearing in the other Versas since XX.72.1.9.

I have contacted support before hopping into community discussion. So far their reply has been a generic one coming from a template. Do these tests, asking for information after that they stopped replying back

Its rather frustrating for all users who now have this problem, but something only Fitbit can do anything about.

I had the same issue since the update. I contacted customer support, and eventually they send me a replacement
I exercised today with my new fitbit, and same issue. I can feel while training that I am at cardio or peak, and the fitbit it’s tracking only fat burn, it does not go up no matter what effort I am doing.
from time to time it tracks correctly, but for few seconds.
I’ve been training with my versa 2 for one year, 4-5 times per week, and I started having issues since this update.
frustrating

how is it possible that with so many people having this issue there is still no solution found ?? What a bull**ahem** to send new watches or ask us to check if we wear our Fitbit correctly !! Most of us are clients since long time we know how it works !! It’s really frustrating ! Hope a real solution will be bring soon !!!

Phoned them again today and explained that the new fitbit I have does not work.
they tried to make me go through the same steps to ‘fix it’, but in the end they said this will be escalated and I will be contacted per e-mail
I told them once again it’s from the software update. I’ve been a fitbit owner for years now and never had these kind of issues

After the versa 2 replacement, that was still not working they gave me the opportunity to upgrade to Sense, which I did, but the Sense has the same problems and extra (just track random floor numbers though I am no leaving my flat)
tried to contact them but the service is appalling, they keep offering me replacements though they acknowledge to software issue.
when I asked for a date, they just said good question we don’t have a date
