Does anyone else have this problem, leaving versa on surface it regularly 'reads' a heart rate that doesn't exist. Fitbit have replaced my versa once already and are now telling me that it is normal for it to read a heart rate from a surface (it doesn't do it all the time). Seems to be a pretty fundamental design flaw. My heart rate measurements and tracking are completely pointless now.

Hi @Elfind. My Versa, and other Fitbit devices I’ve used, have indeed tried to find a heart rate when off my wrist. It is normal. I just ignore it because I’m just interested in the rate I see at a given time. But if you want to increase accuracy of other reports, you can easily turn the HR feature off when you take it off your wrist.
On the Versa, swipe to settings, then scroll down to Heart rate. Tap to toggle between on and off.
Hope this helps.

At your main Versa screen, @Elfind, swipe to the left a couple times to find Settings. Then swipe up to get to HR. Tap it and you can toggle on/off from there.
