Heart rate readings too high in Fitbit Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just went on my first run with the Versa and found the heart rate wildly off. I've had several other Fitbit devices that have registered a peak rate between 160-165 bpm for the same run, on the same wrist, with the same wrist placement. This run shows a lengthy section where my heart rate peaks at 209. I'm in my late 40's... No way that is accurate. Anything I can do to fix this?Screenshot_20180421-121418_Fitbit.jpg

I can't because Best Buy return policy is only 15 days 😞

Since I didn't really buy it for the heart rate function, I think I'm just going to turn it off. Kind of annoying though since this is a $200 product  - not cheap!

Sadly my issues are heart rate, active minutes, calorie burn and sleep stages 😞

Hi all, here is my contribution to this thread. Got a new Versa last Sunday and immediately felt the HR readings were too high. So yesterday morning, I wore both the Charge 2 and the Versa at the same time and this is the result. I love the functionality of the Versa but this is enough for me to return the Versa unless Fitbit can start explaining what is happening.

Mine has been doing better. I cleaned the sensor with some alcohol and also
started wearing it a little higher on my arm. I guess the band was too
loose before maybe?

I returned my Versa and reverted to my Charge 2 - with no regrets. The
Charge 2 HR monitor has been far more accurate for me.

Has Fitbit (the company) ever made a public statement about the Versa HR problem? Is there a way to force them to make a statement? I am flat disgusted.

Not that I’ve seen. Maybe they have?

Mine is completely wrong. Just sitting here and it’s reading between 92-115. Took it manually and it is 68.

That’s what mine was doing, too! It seems better lately. 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

I recently upgraded to the Versa from the Alta HR.  I would always test the Alta HR against my cardiologist's expensive monitors and the readings were accurate on the Alta HR or just marginally off.  Since I upgraded to the Versa a few weeks ago, I recently went to cardiologist and heart rate reading on Versa was >100 and the nurse got a reading of 85.  My daily wake up heart rate is >100.  Additionally, I woke this morning to >1,000 steps recorded and wondered where I had been all night (if not in my bed).  I am giving this one more week to autocorrect and I am going to Apple.  I hope it is resolved quickly as I have come to like Fitbit over the years and hate to jump ship.

I did the same comparison with my Alta HR and it appeared to be more accurate.  You have convinced me to return the Versa and use my Alta HR a little bit longer or go to Apple.  😞

Ok.

It's time to stop using Versa because I can't wait it to be fixed.

Frankly speaking, I feel it is totally useless for my workout.
I just started using Garmin vivoactive for my workout.
Bye, Versa.

I recently exchanged my Versa for a Charge 3. Not only was I getting
incorrect HR readings, but it also broke my wrist out.

I bought fitbit Versa watch. The worse decision in my life.

1. The heart rate is 25-30 bpm higher (111 when I have 88) all the time - regardless how tight is the watch on my hand.

2. when I type on my keyboard laptop the stupid watch think that I am walking...

don't touch this low level product - loosing money

Thank you. I hope I have not kept it too long to return it. Are you getting more accurate readings now?

The cutoff for returns is 45 days, but the Cust Svc person I talked to
(online chat) was kind enough to let me return it even though I’ve had it
longer than that. I had a rash from the tracker itself as well as the band.

I’m having the same issue. And it goes on all day. I have 600+ active minutes because my heart rate is inaccurately high.
