I just went on my first run with the Versa and found the heart rate wildly off. I've had several other Fitbit devices that have registered a peak rate between 160-165 bpm for the same run, on the same wrist, with the same wrist placement. This run shows a lengthy section where my heart rate peaks at 209. I'm in my late 40's... No way that is accurate. Anything I can do to fix this?

Got my wife a new Fitbit Versa for Mothers day. She's had it for 24hrs and was apparently doing 130+ bpm standing still in a shop today.
Super poor form. We jumped ship from Garmin because their products kept failing and now this from Fitbit. Customer satisfaction is clearly not a priority. If they are sending out fixed Versas when you speak to cust serv, then why are there not fixed units in the shops?

There are no properly working Versas. Welcome to health watch hell.
I said something a bit stronger a few weeks ago and they deleted it. Let's see if they catch this, this time.

MIne started doing this yesterday. I have contacted them and apparently it is a bug they have known about for a while and are working on. They cannot give me any information about what causes it or how long it will go on for.

I finally turned off the heart rate monitoring because it was too frustrating- now - once again - it doesn’t sync my active hours from watch to app correctly- i used to love fitbit... oh and when i called because my heart rate was 128 for hours on end they asked if i was cold or was on new meds.... after years with them - and them knowing their devices are failing- not satisfying customer care- sorry

I'm having the same problem. I've had my Versa Lite for a few weeks and generally I like it, but the HR reading frequently zooms up to 120bpm when a manual reading shows my true HR is about 80. Mostly at rest it reports around 60, which is correct for me, but today it went up to about 90 and stayed there even with my watch off my wrist. It stayed at about 90 for several minutes before slowly dropping to 64, still off my wrist.
No wonder I seem to be burning lots of calories and always in the cardio zone! As this bug seems to be long-standing and with no cure so far, I think my Versa will be going back for a refund. I'm really disappointed, as it took me ages to find a tracker which a) was not too big and b) would sync with a windows PC. Now I'm back to square one.

I'm having the same issue. My Versa says I had 668 Active minutes yesterday and I've burned over 9100 calories. Not bad for a desk job..
But seriously, this is frustrating, this started last week on a trip to LA, I was already sick (sinus infection) and on top of that my heart rate was over 150 the whole time, so I went to the emergency room. Having a history of blood clots and getting off the plane, I really had a panic attack. I'm fine and feeling much better (and my heart rate was much lower than it said) but, I literally watched my Fitbit the whole trip and it really stressed me out.
Currently, I use a 3rd party free app on my iphone and I put on my co-workers Garmin and it matched.
Please keep us updated with this because my "heart rate" gets up to 190 on this Versa. I've only had this watch for 4 months.

Hi Mona. Mine seems to be getting worse. I've just done a bit of on-the-spot running to get my activity hour completed, ad the HR has jumped up to 99 bpm and stayed there for several minutes after I'd stopped! It's now started going down, but it's stuck again at 72. My real HR is around 60, as taken manually from my wrist.
I've turned HR on and off, I've re-started my Versa Lite and tried wearing it in different positions, but nothing really helps. I think I'll dig out the box, ready for a return.

Anyone that’s had this problem… Has a Fitbit fixed it or have you all just returned your versa? Mine is burning 7000 cal a day sitting… With heart rates over 200 I’ve reset my watch several times I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled… Clean the back and done a couple soft resets over the last week and nothing fixes it! I’ve called the customer service and they took a case number but basically did absolutely nothing… Mine is only six months old!

Mine was also 6 months old, same situation as you describe. I called and they sent a replacement which so far is working perfectly!

Despite really liking the Versa form factor (aka shape! ;^) and comfort (especially when sleeping)
... the heart rate inaccuracy and ditching of heart rate history display after swimming means I have asked for a refund!!
Now just trying to decide which Samsung watch to get :^(

UPDATE: I've contacted a rep through the Live Chat. She had me reset my fitbit (that didn't work), so she had be do a factory reset, which took a while and I had to restart the process, but in doing that...on the app there is a new update to fix bugs, etc. I'm currently installing this now. Fingers cross this works. I will keep you updated.

You have a one year warranty from Fitbit, and it doesn’t matter where it was bought. Mine was purchased from Target and it was past their return period so I dealt with Fitbit directly.

I don't believe this function works for anyone who's bought these newest models.
The only thing that I found that helps a little is pushing the strap up about 4 inches from my wrist when I'm doing strenuous exercises like elliptical or stair machine. It's then sometimes quite accurate.

The replacement Versa that I have been using works flawlessly. However, my first Versa was working fine for the first 5 months before things went haywire!
