Heart rate showing higher heart rate readings than usual.

I was a happy fitbit versa user until a day when my heart rate started showing unusual numbers, usually too high, but sometimes low too.

For example, it may remain in peak (170+) for hours even when I am doing nothing. Sometimes the rate remains low even when I start some activity. Many times there is no heart rate displayed at all. However, compared to all other issues, extremely high rate is most common issue.

I have already attempted:

  • restarting on several occasions
  • comparing fitbit numbers with another medical device - oxygen saturation monitor
  • letting the battery die before recharging (just in case)
  • factory reset the device

What puzzles me that it was working great before these issues started. As I am writing, after company resetting the device, my heart rate is consistently in 180 - 190 range for an hour. Reset had no effect.

I use iPhone 6S to pair my fitbit.
